Emperor Extrait by Parfums Vintage Fragrance / Cologne Review

I have the Creed Aventus batch 18K11 (my decant came from a 1000ML flacon), comparing side by side with the Extrait....the Aventus got slightly more bergomot upfront and less pineapple note in the opening, and Extrait got more delicious pineapple note from opening that last through the mid, while the opening from Aventus 18K11 faded away very quickly. Extrait's performance and longevity is far superior, i can still smell it 24hr later, which made the Aventus 18K11 seems like a clone of Extrait. Both Emperor EDP and Extrait version outperformed the Aventus 18K11. Pineapple Vintage stuff are high quality, elegant, and long lasting, they do not smell anything like BP Oil Spilled mixed with sewage concoction from the Armaf CDNI (i bought one from Amazon). Comparing Extrait to CDNI is like comparing Dry Aged Wagyu beef vs. Road kills. If Creed re-bottled these Emperor Extrait then relabeled them as Creed Aventus Vintage Special Edition, and sell them for $600/100ml....this shit would fly off of the shelves and be on back order for at least a year!

Creed no longer care, because they have the reputation. People still buy their scents regardless. When I was at selfridges in London, testing creed ranges a guy bought two aventus bottles. People won't stop to think really.

I have not been too impressed with Parfums Vintage Aventus clones. They don't wear well on my skin, and I haven't had that problem with other companies, or actual Aventus. The best clone I've found is Brasilia Prive from Alexandria Fragrances. Give it a try Steven! You won't be disappointed!

When I go shopping for a fragrance I don't necessarily look for something that is similar to aventus I like how it smells I go with it, clone or not parfum vintage does good work I have several of their fragrances and I am very happy with them I definitely will be getting a sample of this good job guys 👍

Great review gentlemen! I have yet to try this particular offering but so far I have acquired Rush of Unicorns and Verbena Fields from Parfums Vintage and I love both. I have a sample of the Pineapple Vintage Intense and Vanilla Intense which I both find very appealing as well. My impression of Parfums Vintage so far is that they put out some high quality, long lasting fragrances. Their prices are more along the "designer" range I have noticed.

Very interesting. I am of the uncommon opinion that I do NOT prefer Vanilla Intense over the original Pineapple Vintage. I actually really LIKE the sharp, cold, piercing but juicy pineapple to shine and rise to the top without being tamed down by cream. To me, in fragrance like Eros that have this lemon-lime/mint characteristic, the worst quality is the heavyness that comes with the tonka bean. I adore fragrances like Millesime Imperial that are liberated from it, ozonic and metallic, piercing and of fascinating character.

I have to re-sample both Emperor's. I remember liking one more than the other. One had a nice leather aspect to it .It appeared a little latter on in the wearing . I was wearing a leather jacket, and I was in a antique shop , sooo. I will try Emperor again this Friday and see what happens . *Howdy Hi Lee* I won't wear the leather jacket this outing. I can see the comparison with the Guerlains that you mention, but I don't think it smells explicitly like either one. Also, I personally prefer BdC because I find it to be the more versatile scent of the two.

Good video :-) nice collabo. I have tried a few aventus clones. Today I must admit I got one that was incredible from a British clone house. I have never owned the original if I'm honest and smelt a few copies and wasn't impressed till the one today. It's the first time iv actually thought about the genuine one, iv smelt it on people obviously but never got blown away. Yes there perhaps are way too many of them now but Creed must secretly love it the never ending publicity and there not seeming to be a perfect clone will keep people going back to them. For me if a fragrance smells good I'm not fussed if it was a copy or not

If your point of reference is the old version of Aventus i should go for Aventus. If your point of reference is the current Aventus i should go for Parfums Vintage (PVI,Emperor extrait) because those fragrances smell better and perform better. Hopefully the Aventus clone madness will stop soon because it's too much and it's time for something new.

Just received a 8ml decant of emperor extrait. Boy am I glad I didn't buy a bottle. It smells exactly like my cdnim. Same exact opening, same exact dry down. The difference is my cdnim was $20 for a 100ml and they want $119 for a 50ml of this. I purposely ordered a sample of this cause I couldn't smell my cdnim on me after an hour but I can't smell this after 25mins. Now I realize it may be olefactory fatigue but that makes me wonder was I getting fatigue from the cdnim as well and performance wasn't bad as I thought. Cause while I can smell them, I sprayed cdnim on one hand and extrait on the other and there is 0 difference in smell. In fact I sprayed paper with extrait and I can't smell it after 20mins. I sprayed paper with cdnim and can still smell it after an hour. I'm going to say this is not worth the price cause even if it theoretically performs better it smells like a $20 knockoff and doesn't provide a quality to warrant it's price.

@@Redolessence well as an update I ventured out and got a decant of real aventus 19S11 and I will say the emperor extrait is pretty on point with the real thing as is cdnim though cdnim is more of a lemon citrus where as I do get the pineapple note with emperor extrait and Aventus. As far as performance even with the real aventus I can't smell it after an hour or so. I'm going to chalk it up to I get olefactory fatigue from this scent as my girl can smell it on me even though I can't. Thank you.

Never understood the Aventus thing. Batch to batch variations. Good year bad year. Probably 90% of the people probably can’t tell the difference PV and Aventus. Think maybe its just saying you wear a $350 bottle compared to $100 bottle. Why waste your money on something with so much variation and not much different in smell.

In terms of peppery scents, the ones that come to mind are Intense Pepper by Montale and Poivre Samarcande by Hermes. Piper Nigrum by Lorenzo Villoresi comes to mind as well, but that one smells a lot like clove to me. There's also a Clive Christian scent with a lot of pepper in it, but it's way too expensive.
