I feel he would've survived if they gauged the situation more faster. Rain could've been pushing the wall much closer to the door, Tanya could've used her powers at least, and finally Sektor could've just rocket boosted both of them out quickly when she was grabbing them.

They are from another timeline. Just because he has Mileena as his partner in Liu Kang's timeline doesn't mean that's the case in all of them. For example, Kuai Liang is married to Harumi, while in the previous timelines she was with Hanzo Hazashi. Something similar happens here, since Rain and Tanya had already been a couple in a previous timeline, although in that case they both used and betrayed each other. I suppose they were referring to that here. However, this doesn't affect the timeline we see in the main story. So, by extension, Tanya and Mileena remain together.

@@shawnleonidas Kitana in Liu Kang's timeline is Mileena's sister. Both were daughters of Empress Sindel. So, yes, Kitana is still a kind of princess. In this timeline, both are biological daughters and to explain Mileena's Tarkat, it was simply appealed to that in this timeline, Tarkat is more than a race, it is a disease of the outside world. Unlike the previous timeline, Kitana's supposed romantic interest in the timeline created by Liu Kang is Raiden. This is because Liu Kang decided to give her the same role that he had in the previous one. Basically, Raiden is now the champion of the earth and Liu Kang the protector god. However, there is also another interested party and it is Jhony Cage. But it is probably just part of his personality. However, Liu Kang still loves Kitana, not the one from the timeline he created, but the one he met in the previous one. So they have a kind of reunion in the story mode. Since he realized that all the endings of Mortal Kombat 11 are canonical, so there are dozens of timelines. Which made the situation arise that he will meet again with the titan Kitana, who is from Mortal Kombat 9 and 11. So now it is quite overwhelming. Basically, there are many timelines arising from the confrontation against Kronica and these lines differ greatly from each other. Making cases like the one here possible. Where in one timeline Tanya is with Mileena and in this other with Rain. As an extra fact, the version of Kitana and Mileena from the timeline of Emperor Rain and Emperor Tanya was, along with her sister Mileena, corrupted by chaos and lives in the labyrinths as fierce assassin warriors.
