Tiberius was one of the greatest Emperors. He continued Augustus' legacy, few could have done so, it could have descended into chaos. As they said at the time "When Tiberius died, the world groaned".

Suetonius was by no means a historian. You can't take his writings for earnest. They are pure fantasy. (By the way, with a certain similarity to the writings of Marquis de Sade more than 1500 years later.)

@MrOrange121 You can read it. So it was handed down by ancient historians like Suetonius - "De vita Ceasarum" (better known under "The twelve Caesars".)

No, he was not. Most probably such defamations were created by the dirty fantasy of his political enemies.

Tiberius was the roman emperor during the lifetime of Jesus Christ. Under his reign Jesus has been executed. Tiberius hated the senate and he saw an enemy in everyone. He was responsible for the death of Caligulas mother Agrippina and his brothers, Nero & Drusus. Some say, he was also responsible for the death of Germanicus (Caligulas father). In the year 37 AD Tiberius was strangled by his legal successor Caligula on Capri. One odious tyrant was gone, followed by another.
