Any mark is good. There are so many things in old world that people use regularly with one or more of the following ws2/4/5, str 3-5 (t4 matters) toughness 3-5 (s4 matters) i3/4 (i4 matters).

@janehrahan5116 of course stat lines matter and chaos warriors have fantastic stats lines for line infantry but that is reflected in points. So when I spend on warriors I want them to be tanky that's why I love getting a nurgle sorcerer in there to give them fleshy abundance.

this was a really good batrep mordian. i came here for the guard but im an old empire/chaos fantasy fan from the early 90s in my childhood and actually the old world stuff has really caught me. i prefer watching this game and this is one of the few channels where i feel like ur playing the game properly not just mindlessly pushing models at each other. the quality of the actual gameplay for old world on this channel is the best out there m8, id love to see more like this, trying out different lists, seeing different ideas. very cool m8.

Redress the ranks also only allows the frontage to change by 5 models, so the proposed redress would not have been possible.

You can’t march backwards ‘Whilst marching a unit can wheel to change direction, but cannot perform any other manoeuvres’. Move backwards is a manoeuvre. Also re discussion on flagellants, versus the normal hand weapons they won’t get the ward save due to ensorcelled weapons.

Was really excited to see that chaos chosen dual axe frothing khorne berserkers try and chop through these fat bricks of state troops! I feel propper teased and bamboozled for over 2h with no satisfying conclusion. But great armies and great plays. Hope to see more battlereports with these kind of lists.

42:25 Frenzied units just have to declare a charge. There is nothing forcing them to charge the nearest enemy unit. 45:00 A model can only make one shooting attack. The breath weapon is a shooting attack as cleared up by the faq. 1:58:00 Check Controlling Special Feature. If 2 eligible units are within 6", the CLOSEST unit controls the feature. Sorry, but I think the chaos won this one... 😂

The closest thing I could see was "A can shoot only once per Shooting phase, and models can make only one shooting attack (the number of Attacks a model has does not affect the number of shots it can make)."

Great report! Man, it's brutal watching those Chaos fellows slog so far up the board and get denied over and over. Did they have to deploy so far back? It seems like Chaos infantry will want to deploy as far forward as possible. It's like some Napoleonic elites trudging through mud and canon fire, never quite making it to the enemy redoubt.

According to lore, in Old World timeline there are a lot more steam tanks around as they were recently invented. In Fantasy Battles, centuries later, only 12 remain.

the situation described at 1:08:37 can't happen. Drilled isn't a full 'reform', but specifically a 'redress the ranks', so the frontage can change by a maximum of 5 models and you cannot add/deduct models on just the one side of the unit (similar in spirit to how the center of the unit remains in place during a reform). In addition, models cannot move further than twice their movement during 1 maneuver, even if its a free maneuver.

Since your going with so big infantry blocks you should try and put captain in each of your spearmen blocks the two skills of hold the line and rally is quite good. Plus more importantly it gives your unit leadership 8 instead of 7

great report and great game. Question about the drilled block of 7x3 chaos. Drilled allows you to redress the ranks, which is 5 models moving from the front to the rear or rear to front. How is a 7x3 formations getting into marching column when moving only 5 models? Or was this missed and more than 5 were moved?

You can move or remove up to 5 models from the front rank. You then add remove the models behind them. As example is shown in the rule book on page 125

All the orc and goblin shade… Everyone’s got a plan until they get a squig in the face. :) I’m not convinced orc artillery gunline is the faction meta FWIW. The most successful lists I’ve seen have two doom divers and plenty of other violence.

I’m not an expert. But can you actually move like that with 12” fly (steed of shadows)?? As I understand it you have to pay for wheeling when “close order” (that’s one of the benefits to have a Pegasus instead of a a dragon etc. better mobility)

My view on the power of bretonian list types relative to eachother Grand army 10/10, by far the strongest detachment type exiles: 8/10 a lot of cool stuff to do but losing automatic ward on most units, and losing grail knights, t4 magic, and more hurts a lot crusade: 6/10 only time errants are good, but impetuous on all knights hurts a lottt.
