How do you feel about the fireplace now that you've had it for a while? I'm considering getting this model.

We absolutely LOVED that fireplace right up until we moved in Summer 2020. We miss it and would consider adding one to our new house, but all the heat would go up into the loft.

I have this same model, I've got it framed in place but haven't finished around it yet. I'm not really understanding the metal lip on the top front of the fireplace. Do you just butt up the cement board to it to make it tight against the fireplace? Not sure if it's serving a functional purpose.

Building a whole house is DIY if you take the time to learn a few skills. Good luck with the fireplace. It should look nice in that room.
