Great production but I think you could have gone a lot further with this to be honest. It would be much more interesting to reach out to women in heavy music to hear their take and see how it has affected their experiences of misogyny and empowerment in metal.

Do you know the female fronted Rituals of the Oak from Australia? On their 2009 debut album Hour of Judgement, they have one song, Drown the Wood in Blood, that is written from the point-of-view of a woman falsely accused of being a witch and burned on the stake. It's the only song I can think of that takes this perspective.

Glad you admitted calling extreme metal bands(especially ones that are more known and popular that women also listen to and enjoy) silly, although there are certainly more obscure extreme metal bands that are misogynistic AND worse such as NSBM. I think this is a useful video for people who aren’t very familiar with extreme metal, but I feel like the video is a bit too over focused on the literal sense of the lyrics of these bands and ones alike that don’t aim to intentionally harm or target a certain group of people or topic. Nonetheless I do have to admit your effort in editing and research is impressive.

Totally fair play!!! Thanks so much for watching and also for your insight. I do totally get what you’re after here - the bands covered in my video are definitely the lesser evil when compared to the NSBM scene, or just other more shocking bands. My take however aimed to focus on more popular acts to show how these lyrical themes can be present and not hinder bands from staying in the limelight, rather than focus on worse lyrics from bands that aren’t really popular in the grand scheme of things, if that makes sense. Also this video really tried to stick to the witch theme, and not misogyny in general. If I tried to tackle that issue, I’d still be editing this one!

"No Stayer" is just a celebration of one-night stands, dude. Not every song about casual sex has anything to do with misogyny. I think the same goes for the rest of the gender issues you bring up. You make it sound like witch hunts still exist these days, while it's just fun to sing about violent historical events that date back centuries (like burning witches) and occasionally take on the role of the evil protagonist. You're really reading too much into this. That being said, I really like your editing style!
