I went to Middle School with Tiffany and not only was she beyond talented; singing for our class in the morning when encouraged by teachers, she also never seemed to miss a day of school (even when her family was going through housing issues). She was always the same, always real and always a beautiful human. She didn’t let any negativity phase her, she was DRIVEN!

@@chars1239 the same reason people claim the music industry is “evil”. They can’t rise to the occasion and blame the industry. They can’t understand that you need to be flexible and willing to grow to strive in this industry. You need to play the game or get out of the way. Same at my job. @@chi8772 Right. She didn't get the SUPPORT. Also she allowed her marriage to take her eye off the ball. She had to lower her LIGHT to get along with her husband & it still didn't work. That kind of situation never does when a partner's EGO-tripping. But EVERYBODY don't sell their SOUL to make it. Anyway Tiffany's not the kind that would. Ciara & Russell Wilson didn't sell their souls. Monica didn't, neither did Brandy, Regina King, Angela Bassett, Denzel, Lil Durk. TRUE some Black people do & did. I won't speak on other races, Whites who invented the Hollywood game. IF they made it to Superstardom with no talent...YOU KNOW they sold themselves. I followed Tiffany her whole career that woman Is a PRODIGY, she can REALLY DANCE AND SANG, like at the same level. That's RARE. You don't get too many artist that can really SANG SANG, that can also really DANCE. She used to dance with Sean Bankhead all the time. Like her Aaliyah choreography she did with him. Sean Bankhead was also in her "Promise Ring" Video, and I think he was the one who created the choreo for that video. She could really dance bank in the day too, I mean look at "Promise Ring." The women been had moves. Her and Jawan can both SANG. i remember when they 1st "joined forces", lol, forgot the 1st song they put out, but it was a video on KZbin, and I'm like WHEW, the vocals!! I thought they were brother and sister honestly, her mama was posted about them on her IG page like that was her son too, I'm like wait...are they related, or are together. I remember seeing her on some show, the video of the performance used to be on KZbin, and she belted and sustained a strong G5 with Vibrato, she was like 11. I'm like WTF!! How can a child that young do what most people twice her age, and heck even vocal veterans can't do. She is not to be played with. TALENTED beyond Measure.

Very interesting documentary. I always wondered about her. She seems more suited to her partnership with Jawan than with her ex husband who was her backup dancer. Jawan seems much more on her level. Her ex looks angry and I’m sure he was jealous of her success. Don’t put yourself through a relationship with an insecure man. He also seems predatory. She was barely an adult when they got pregnant and married. Good on her for moving on.

I believe her. If y’all don’t remember, artist around this time we’re coming out to speak against the industry. This led to people seeing common traits in music videos, lyrics, and even concert performances. I think the industry took a really dark turn once 2008-2009 hit, they started becoming more blatant as time went on. Around this time, Lady Gaga was on the rise and one of her most prominent performances is when she had smeared blood on herself and pretended that she was being hung at the 2009 VMA’s. (Y’all remember? Lol who told her to do that). Also, around this time I noticed that the industry STOPPED caring about hiring people with talent. People with talent are too much of a hassle. You cannot hire a “Celine Dion” and make her risqué or sexualized. If they did have talent, they watered them down (ex: Kesha. She has a beautiful voice)

Honestly I think he just got lucky with DC and ultimately Beyoncé. Those girls already had a momentum and labels interested in them when he came and hijacked them from their original management. They would’ve taken off regardless of him managing them or not. The fact that he hasn’t been able to match that success with his other acts is what tells me he’s probably not that great a manager.

@@prim.an.propher1505 To be fair that isn't B fault, but rather her dad fault, so it is wrong to blame her for that, she was young and every young people need their parents full support and encouragement to shine, but Matthew shouldn't do that in detrimental of others artists hard work, he should have let them go and find someone free and willing to help them boost their careers, it wasn't fair for them that he keep them in his label knowing damn well that he won't do his job and fulfilling the agreement he had with them.
