I jumped on the Olaplex 0, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 train last fall/winter (the Sephora fall sale & holiday sales helped out a bit) for a bit of damage control after realizing I gave my fringe a peroxide "cut" over the summer, don't ask, but I did enjoy the brassy, sassy bright orangey "sun kissed" glow while it lasted, thank goodness it was just the fringe, mostly. Totally agree on hair loss ~~ you don't realize till you have "bangs" that you don't recall cutting or your already small pony or bun is "all of a sudden" super tiny. I have just to the nips length hair ~~ and now some below the eyes fringe. I feel Olaplex saved the rest of my hair, used No 0, one bottle , 4 treatments with No 3, still pop the 6 & 7 on occasion, still have some 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 left and stopped the straight up peroxide dip ~~ I know, I know, like I said, don't ask. Not a heat style gal ~ can't be bothered, but have hair similar to your type Nadine~~ 53 year old hair, a bit of temple greys, dyed various reds at random times over the last 35 years, thin and fly away, dry ends, a little frizzy, and a wavy curl, as I just air dry. Your and Michelle's (lab muffin) Olaplex reviews helped me take the plunge and then I stumbled on the Beauty Hags video when you mentioned Keraphix ~~~ thank you, thank you! Way more realistic purchase for a shampoo/conditioner duo than the Olaplex $$$$ to use on the daily, I alt with WEN (does anyone else still use WEN? If they did? I still love it -- and a smattering other other randoms) For US folks you can usually get the 33 oz keraphix at your local Target or Ulta ~~ and both usually have frequent sales, buy one get one etc. Patience and persistence are key. ~~ Keraphix so freaking good and the smell? OMFG ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! Freaking heady & divine, so thank you for the excellent recommendation Nadine!!! It is heaven. Oud, tobacco, leather, my favorite scents. Ladies if you have fine, compromised ~~ be it heat or dye and hair of a certain age like ours, dip your toes in the so, so affordable Nexus Keraphix deliciously divine waters. And Nadine, your hair is looking, has been looking, silky, smooth, divinely, fabulously honey colored! Will be eagerly awaiting your review on the newly released Olaplex No 8 ~~ the new moisturizing treatment mask. Hint. Hint. I just ordered via the Sephora spring sale, why not sag that discount?

Nexxus does make styling products for sale in the US. Theres a prep/prime spray leave in, a styling balm, a blowout cream, and a mousse and hairspray. Its not got any revolutionary ingredients but it does work great on medium to fine hair types. They all have petrolatum and mineral oil in them which usually scares me off just due to the heaviness of those ingredients but the styling balm and leave in are very lightweight.

I always blew my curly hair out with a dryer with literally no effort. All of a sudden around 40 yrs old I just couldn’t make it happen anymore and so think it had to do with more grays and a lesser quality of hair...I took two years to completely go curly (that long because I avoided the big chop) and I really think giving up that blow dry/heavy heat routine saved my hair. I still use a diffuser...

I'd like to add that folks who are prone to congestion should definitely not feel the pressure to add up so many empties (not referring to Nadine's video but most beauty influencers). Most brands will have a recommended quantity that you should apply, which is usually worth following, e.g. 1 pump or 1 pump per half of face, etc, but with acne-prone or easily congested skin, not overloading the skin with moisture is a standard rule among dermatologists. That's not to say don't moisturise or don't hydrate--far from it, repair that oil-water balance--but figure out your threshold, try paring back on layers, or try using less product per application. As someone who has worked with acne skin for a long time, minimising the amount of product, and choosing potent treatments (such as retinoids), often produces much better results than the sort of insane layering, 12-step routines so common on KZbin and unrealistic Vogue videos. Recognise your skin type and work with it. Someone with extremely dry skin will be able to use a lot more product than someone who is combination or oily. That said, I just love an empties vid, and Nadine's are some of the best. I love seeing really brilliant products return in her routines. Consistency is so important, and so many influencers encourages us to switch up and buy something new every other week. People ditch products if they don't see a radical change in a fortnight, not realising that skin cycles (let alone collagen production) are much longer processes, and only things like acids or strong retinoids reveal added overnight effects. What I love about Nadine is that her approach to skincare is so REAL.

@user-ii4rq5ko3x3 жыл бұрын
Would you suggest using the Toleriane serum daily or only when the skin is rebellious? It’s been on my wishlist for a while but I’m so fussy about using up products before they become ineffective that if I don’t think I’ll use something up within 9months or so, I won’t buy it 😅. So unless I can use it daily, I’m not sure about it, but I keep seeing people rave about it.

Time and again with Beauty Pie you really like a product and then it’s not available and you have to check back in. Why don’t they have “back in stock” notifications? They are so inconsistent. Every few months I just think all I get is a whole load of frustration for my subscription. I don’t think I have ever been able to get everything I wanted on an order. Something is always out of stock. It’s a shame but the business model breaks down in this one.
