By those builtins in the hall way, you could add a large mirror/ picture. And advice for your whole house pick one color and have it incorporated in you designs etc. pillow, patterned drapes, bowl on island, hand towels(love pale blues). For you bedroom I would really suggest sticking with whites and light blues because there is so much natural lighting. Also for the empty space under the stairs love you idea of round mirror, but you can put the rustic mirror dresser from Urban there and the round mirror above! Love giving a helping hand in any design situation, CONGRATS
