Empty playgrounds. Schools without enough students to stay open. Small towns, deserted and abandoned. This is not some dystopian vision of the future. Demographers say this is our future.
Global population growth is leveling off, and as early as the second half of this century could begin to shrink for the first time since the Black Death struck the world almost 700 years ago.
"Everything that we understand that functions in our societies today, that depends on people, which is almost everything, is going to change," says Stephen J. Shaw, a data scientist, demographer and producer of the film Birthgap.

Fun fact: People in first world nations are having less children than people in developing, poorer nations. Fun fact 2: People in the past were signicantly poorer, experienced significant harship such as constant wars, and yet were still able to have several children per lifetime. In short, it was never the cost of childcare, but people's high expectations on standards of living.

@badwolf3618
@badwolf3618 12 күн бұрын
@@axoletthe only reason less wealthy countries are having more kids is because child mortality rates are much higher in poorer countries, so some kids aren't making it to adulthood. They also need people to work on the family farm or the family business, so they have more kids to get more work out of them. This is a well documented trend that is studied by historians, sociologists, and anthropologists. As a country becomes more stable in terms of economics, technology, health care, and infrastructure, people start to have less kids because their kids are more likely to survive and also the parents are less reliant on child labor to make ends meet.

We passed the 2 billion mark in the early 1900s. We passed the 1 billion mark in the early 1800s. Before that, our global population had less than 1 billion. Life expectancy was short, child mortality was high, yet humans endured. Living in the era we live in now, population will decrease to a level that will fit the resources available to us and then balance out. No need for alarm.

The population collapse that we see is very similar to Universe 25 experiment. The fertility rate in South Korea is so low and dropping so quickly that if it continues the Fertility rate in about 20 years will virtually be zero. Nobody knows where the bottom to fertility rates. We never experienced that in all of the written history. Having 1 billion of mostly young people with high fertility rate is completely different then 1 billion of elderly people and collapsing fertility rates. The collapse of fertility rate could bring massive instability un the world. Famines, war, financial and technical collapse.

The answer to any Christian should be plain as day: Secularism is the death of society as we know it. God calls for man to be fruitful and multiply, to unionize in marriage, and to subdue the land. This is what happens when we go against the grain of life, people seek fleeting romances that lead to trauma and disappointment and end up single, bitter, lost, and childless if not creating single parent households. Have strong moral values in Christ and we will heal and prosper.

Empowering women is the most effective way to reduce fertility rates and achieve a sustainable population size that respects the limits of Earth’s carrying capacity. The number of years a woman has spent in education is usually inversely correlated with the number of children she will bear in her lifetime. - Quote from population matters. I want to add that how the economy not getting better and not just in the US makes it difficult for people to want children and start families or even get involved with someone. I am not one to let that be an excuse as people have always made a way especially being together with someone but this selfish entitled materialistic and most definitely technology internet generation has made it difficult to say the least to find someone like minded and equally yoked because it seems almost everywhere you go and turn people are more and more worldly and ungodly. Besides church MAYBE where can you go to meet someone that is a decent person who could be right to mate with? Not to mention it seems more people are deciding to stay single and to them or single and mess around. The whole world or a lot of it just seems to be Sodom and Gomorrah or worse especially in the US, why even bring children into this world with the way things are now and how it seems it will be worse in the future.

I can recall how the 'population explosion' meme of the 70's and 80's did have an effect on prospective parents limiting the number of kids in the 80's. It was subtle, but it was there. I have a suspicion the opposite may occur now. That is parents might opt to have 'one more' if their is a little social pressure cheering them on. And, another note, I kind of doubt that magical '2.1' applies anymore when you have all this gender dysphoria stuff cutting in. More like 2.4 or more my guess. If 25% of teenagers are now identifying as 'binary' are they going to be having kids?

No, and that was the whole point. Banksters and their minions were openly speaking about depopulation from 30 years. End goal is to monopolize births. By CO2 and overpopulation propaganda they want to force us into having permission to have a child. And this child would be marked as GMO product, which means it will belong to corporation (banks). Same goes with euthanasia. Banksters don't need elder people, so they already starting propaganda about saving planet and yourself from poverty etc by euthanasia (Canada for now).

Can someone explain what would be bad about an empty planet? A planet like Mars seems doing better than what we managed to do. Mars haven't had any deaths pain and suffering. Yeah there is no laughing happening there but why would that even be a bad thing.

@@jonnuanez7183 thats not an answer to my question nor relevant to the question I pose. There is nothing sentient experiencing on Mars currently, why is that a bad thing or even a negative thing? Should we all be crying since there aren't Martians playing, or animals reproducing on that planet?

Japan has already devised an answer to taking care of its elderly’s loneliness when there are not enough workers to take care of them: robots. Now with these disciplines, AI, robotics, and quantum computing accelerating through self-learning algorithms, the clock to doomsday, as expressed in a popular post-apocalyptic video game, is most likely near half a second to midnight and its not due to the use of nuclear weapons, that would harm all of the upcoming AI influencers out there. All we can do is pray, stay in fellowship with a local small group of nonpartisan Bible believing believers, and stay in the middle of God’s will no matter what happens to us or to those around us.

Well having grown up in a family of 5 kids with money tight on enlisted man’s pay, medical issues, dysfunctional communication, and fair amount of drama. For me the logical response was only one child, focus on quality and depth of life, relationships, much better communication, love, being married to one woman for life, and do all this right the first time. Quality over quantity; no ands, ifs, or buts. My EX in-laws had a much different idea for the worse.😢 We remained married for 43 years until she passed onto Christ.
