Awesome vid bro...one thing that took me a while to figure out was that when i was building if a texture didnt match i would remove the block, rotate it then replace until it matched up, i then found the rotation function on the multi-tool and it saved hours of messing around, can also use the multi-tool to change the tint of your galss panels too, also if you wanted to texture or paint massive areas, you can choose the "Replace" check box and it will paint or texture the entire surface...hope this helps someone...

Thanks Bro. And Great tips. I always forget about the rotation function the multi-tool and the UPGRADE function too. I always build the thing like the Advanced constructor then I remember the tip...I can use the multi-tool. I didn't know about the replace function either. There is SO MUCH to this game. Thanks again Bro!

Thanks for the tips! Ive had this game in my library for so long and recently decided to really give it a try. From what I have seen its what I always wanted Space Engineers to be. All the building but with actual PvE. The learning curve is very intimidating and ive been trying to watch as many videos as I can

No problem. Glad to help. Empyrion has become one of my favorite games. My opinion slightly bias as I tried to play SE but couldn't get going but from what I do know, Space Engineers is a great game with an elite level of building and building options and great exploration.Empyrion Galactic Survival has awesome building and amazing exploration and battle. I prefer the latter and therefore prefer EGS. Really, I tried to play SE first and couldn't even figure out how to get started and the tutorial was no help. The EGS tutorial can be brutal and I died but I could at least figure it out and begin playing the game. If you play Space Engineers, you'll have no problems with EGS. Let me know what you think once you play.

I always keep the intensity of the lights at level 2,and the range at max. This gives you the maximum throw for the light without killing your eyes.

Ok. I'll try that out. Those reflections are the worst sometimes. That and the light from my HV or SV magically shining thru the wall impairing my vision.

Nice vid! Wanted to let you know that when you open your control panel and go to the "devices" tab, on the left of the up arrow there is an auto-group button. What it does is group your items depending on their characteristics (ie. lights, door, constructor, etc.). Also, I recommend that you assign items such as the food processor and the constructor their own custom switch, as they consume a lot of power even when you are not using them. Then, just activate when you need to produce.

Holy crap. I've put over 150 hours into this game, and yet you still taught me something with the whole P button directly on an object. I NEVER knew that! Thanks!
@talexander15796 жыл бұрын
Let me clarify slightly. I knew about using P while in/on a ship to open it's control panel directly and allow access to every device. The part I didn't know was like, with the light, pressing P while looking at an object takes you into IT'S control panel. That is news to me lol.

Man, this game is so easy to put in a ton of hours. I'm almost at 200 hours. It has taken over as my most played game or it is close to it. This game is awesome!!!
@CharlesMacro6 жыл бұрын
Oh I feel you. Yeah, I learned that a lil later into my EGS journey. Right now, in Alpha 8 EX, the "P" key doesn't work when you face your vessel tho. In 7.6 you could face an object or even your vessel and it would enter your vessel control panel even when you were standing on your base. It doesn't work at the moment tho.

Very good tips for starters. I made one in Dutch laguage cuz there's not a lot of Dutch players. btw. I hate the glare of the lights especially when raiding at night time. So in the video settings of the game you can disable bloom. That takes away a lot of glare. Fly safe

Just a reminder for people who watch this video today, the game mechanic changed here and there, most importantly, you no longer get ressource back placing items in the factory, it will keep just store them. and if the blueprint you have selected does not need any of the material from the block you want to place, it will just not accept it.

also - and i'll mention some of them are demarcated wrong - in left panel of icon itself there are four colors blue, green, red, ... the colors are per each structure type (HV, SV, CV, BA) .. you'll see light green and blue together often (HV/SV) and red (base) and the other for CV together a lot. SOME blocks fit all things, some fit only ONE type. confused me at first for a while ;)

Thanks for the info. I didn't know what that meant at first. There's quite a bit to learn when you first start playing.

Just bought/downloaded the game yesterday, and have a LOT to learn. Thank you for the time/effort to make these videos to pass information along to others. Question: are the 'seeds' to plant all those plants you had in this video available in the wild? Is there a trick to getting seeds for planting, as currently I do not acquire seeds or sprouts when I harvest from the plants I find in the wild. Also, do the color and texture tools you demonstrated toward the end of the video require resources...as a texture is added or changed on a block does it use any resource or fuel? Thank you for your time and assistance.
@CharlesMacro5 жыл бұрын
Welcome to the EGS Universe. Yes...Kinda. You need to harvest the necesarry plant types...Fruit...Veggie...etc...then you have to craft the seeds in a food processor with nutrient solution. If you have a base or access to a food processor, look thru the craft tabs and you'll see the seeds and the recipes. The texture and color tools do not require any resources. At least not yet, so you can use them as much as needed. Also, FYI, Number One on this tips list has changed with the Alpha 9 update. Now enemies, including packs of spiders, can and will attack on day one so be careful. I think one other thing has changed too but I have to review the video and I'll update you.

I love this game... But I hate the block placement issue. It sucks so bad, especially when you're using quarter blocks or grate blocks for floor. Windows are a pain too because if you want to place anything on or against the window, you need to make sure the window is actually placed on the outside... Which means you have to have something UNDERNEATH the window for support. Meh
@CharlesMacro6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it took me a moment to figure out why the heck I couldn't place on an empty block space. They really need to fix that if possible. It limits your layout options. I should be able to place a refrigerator on an empty space. lol. It just feels right.

You recommended farming for XP. Me and 2 crew mates all leveled all the way up to 25 in a few hours by going to an abandoned drone POI, killing the 2 mini drones defending it, and deconstructing it. We took turns placing a core and switched after we hit 25. Picking up a hardened steel (or xeno) block on a PRIVATELY cored structure gives 100-150 xp per block, with a T2 multitool it literally takes 2 clicks per block. The first guy realized how fast he was leveling and then we took turns to all hit 25. Was insane. Plus we got about 10k Sathium out of the deal. The last guy ran out so for 20 min had to place rows of the xeno blocks he'd picked up, he got 50xp per block, then picked them back up again for the same 100xp each.
@CharlesMacro6 жыл бұрын
Aye, You can't beat that. If you have a squad that is a great way to level. And if you are experienced, that can be a viable option also. Alone, in SP, I was suggesting the safest and easiest way I found to level up at that time. For a noob in SP, the abandoned drone POI is dangerous, albeit conquerable, depending on your skill level, if I remember correctly. I mentioned killing enemies is one of the more fruitful ways to earn HP, just not the safest. This method is a great way to level up tho. Thanks for the info.

Hardened Steel Blocks, instead of going to the Factory to get the Sathium why not simply set multi tool to de-construct and get everything the quick and easy way ? cause that is what I do to get them without going to the factory as I found by trial and error of course. However this is a great helpful video which is similar to another I saw before I got into the game and has made a difference with my time and learning experience in the game in a whole; I Thanku for the help as it is Invaluable. Also looking forward to a Stable Alpha 8 so I too can 1 day get in to try out the newest server in the game; with hopefully a Multiple Player PVE site for Mutual Growth within the game rather then the PVP Killing Zone aspect of the Game.

@CharlesMacro6 жыл бұрын
No problem. My recommendation is get Empyrion first. I own and have played all those games. Osiris is Fun but somewhat broken and incomplete. The devs are flaky, inconsistent and don't know which direction they want to take the game. I played alotta hours of Osiris. Planet Nomads is basically an EGS Clone. I like it and played many hours before I played EGS and realized they're just copying this game. It has it's own art style but it is years behind the development of the game it's copying. Plus, you can't leave the planet yet, and they announced there would be no Multiplayer, which doesn't bother me per se, but alotta players were turned off by that. Take My Word for it, Empyrion Galactic Survival is both those games mixed in one, but better designed, further along in development, and just an all around better game in about every category. Buy Osiris and Planet Nomads on sale. Hope this helps.
