is there any way to turn steel plates into iron ingots?

No, unfortunately. They can be placed in the factory as ingot replacements though. Fortunately most recipes ask for the plates, but I do wish this were a feature!

@@mov4do Oh amazing. I have been looking for sathium and have found none but I have a lot of sathium plates. does this mean I can use sathium plates as ingots in the factory?

@@PSG1_CEO Yes that is correct. Any salvaged item can be placed in the factory for credit toward a build

@@PSG1_CEO bit late to the party but the furnace can turn sathium plates to sathium ingots, just not a 1:1 conversion though
