On your turn 10, if you hadn't lost Purphoros to that misplay, you would've been able to deal 18 damage to both opponents. Cast Krenko for 6, equip Illusionist's Bracers for 3, and activate Krenko. First activation gets you 3 goblins (6 damage), and the second gets you 6 goblins (12 damage). Then you can kill off either opponent with the hasty goblins.

The player who is playing their lands in front dies first, even before the blue player, and prioritized over planeswalkers, 100% of the time. They're actively being annoying to be annoying. There's no benefit to playing with lands in front other than being different for no reason, and it makes it harder to focus on what you have on the battlefield from an opponent's perspective. Lands are the least threatening cards that enter the battlefield, so the nonland cards should be in a prominent position that is visible from a glance. I'm sort of astounded at how many mistakes were made in this match. It was fun to watch. I looked up Yasova on youtube for gameplay purposes and found this. You have yourself a subscriber.

@Gauche695 жыл бұрын
MrPhilGee they also didnt sleeve their moxes and black lotus back then... so... what is your point? :p
@MrPhilGee5 жыл бұрын
Antonio Sousa Antonio Sousa For starters your feeling is absolutely wrong. That is the magic I was exposed to as a young kid, everyone was playing with their lands in the front & one day I started doing it as well. There is nothing about an “edge” (if you will) or anything to gain - its a simple custom. I find it silly that ppl get so triggered, especially in a casual setting, because to me its the same reaction ppl have when they see a religious custom they dont like, or when teachers cant stand someone with a hat on inside; how is this person directly harming you ? Wizards made the rule for SANCTIONED & televised/recorded/featured events just incase what you said is indeed in the mindset of a player - to remove that from the playing field & keeping it balanced. In a sanctioned event, I have been asked politely if I can play with my lands behind my creatures by my opponent & I reply “of course” because the person was polite & we are in a sanctioned event. if he is bothered or disturbed & it it may affect his play, he will vocalize it. However in a casual setting if youre triggered , the problem derives from yourself & not the person with the lands in the front. I hope these points make more sense
@Gauche695 жыл бұрын
MrPhilGee That is a very naive / individualistic approach to a game that is played at least as 2 players. It would be like saying “I tap my land by turning them upside down instead of sideways and if you have a problem with it you should go talk to your therapist”. MtG is highly complex and structured, and it has a massive content of rules because of it. The game must operate in a certain form in order for it work well for everyone. The fact that someone has to feel bothered and vocalize it to you in order for you to play by the same rules as everyone else demonstrate that you don’t care about the other players. You are not playing the game with other people, you are playing the game and the other people are there to entertain you. :) Do I trully think that? No, I don’t. But you said my “my feeling are wrong” and gave your reasoning, my point was to give a reasoning as well. In reality, I just think you shouldn’t play the lands on the back because, clearly, most of people don’t. The same way you learned to sleeve your cards and use a playmat, you could learn to play your lands on the back :)
@MrPhilGee5 жыл бұрын
Antonio Sousa I do understand what you are saying, but playing lands in the front does not comprimise the structure or integrity of the game, nor does it hinder it. Im not changing rules, or structure at all, I use the exact same rules & structure - I just position my board differently. Your example is very extreme & not at all similar to mine, nor does your comment show that you have read mine properly. I made a point of showing my preference & respect during both casual & sanctioned(competitive, for money, tournament) play; Ive played against many people in tournament, even judges, & only a handful of individuals, maybe less than three times, has someone actually said “can you please play with your lands in theback” in 20 years !! Naive ? I dont think so - naive is believing you can only play blue, & all your decks have to be in ultra pro black sleeves. Being a Magic player is showcasing your preferences or personality with decks, colors, cards & even sleeve colors. Try to understand that & not get caught up in this nerd elitist mentality, thats not how Magic used to be, it should not & never be that , & I am showcasing that it is not that on my watch

Unfortunately for you and your gang, WotC have actually forbidden playing your lands in front in tournament play. Also most game stores will frown upon it, at best, because it's very distracting and takes the attention away from your boardstate, thus giving you an unfair advantage in multiplayer games especially, seeing as each player is having to deal with multiple boards as well as their own.
