EMTB Battery Range Test pt2 | EMTB Mode V 800wh Battery

Part 2 of our battery range test.
This time we run the battery in Emtb or Mid mode and see how far we can get before it completely drains the 800wh battery.
I have all the assistance levels pushed up to the max in the ride app.

Good test! +/- 30 % more distance, 60 % more time on the bike! 👍

I would say on a not so windy day there is probably a few km more, it was in the face for a lot of time 😊

I’ve been denying that automatic mode on my Reign, maybe it’s time to revisit. BTW the wife loves that mode on her Embolden… Thanks for the video. 😎

I wouldn't rely on those figures, the power meter doesn't seem to connect well for some reason.

Yeah that power meter doesn't connect to the garmin properly for some reason, it actually said my average watts were 7 for the whole spin 🤣

Save in a higher bit rate. Right click your origonal video and in details scroll down to bitrate. Then make sure your edited video is same or slightly higher

@@PedalhoundsTV youtube does tone it down, i shoot manual settings now, that way i can get IS working in the woods. Did you try different formats like .avi or something that doesnt compress the video as much

I'm very curious about 2nd and 3rd assistance. I tried with second assistance (after eco, i dont remember the name), my weight around 86kg suit with 625wh battery and 12°c and my result was 30km and 1280m d+. A little bit disappointed. Anyone same results?

What tyres/wheels are you running?

I have dhf 2.6 on front and assegai 2.5 back dh casing. Maybe this could limitate the efficiency?

@@valeriomoretta most definitely, are they Maxgrip compound? I did a race at the weekend on my Reign E, I changed the tyres to exo+ maxterra, in full power mode I did the 35k race and had 46% battery left, it wasn't very high race with only 700m overall but it was none stop.

Yes are max grip on the rear (assegai is for the front and for sure is not rolling as other tyres) but I had same results also with last schwalbe big Betty I found on it that was finished and slick (it's a second hand bike). Anyway for you 700 d+ with full power and 46% left its a good result I think. Maybe with second or third assistance you can pass over 1000m with same battery remaining

There is no Turbo and no EMTB Mode at all on Giant. And without showing how the assitance is set for each mode in the Giant app this is pointless.

We all know know turbo mode is 5 bars and Emtb mode is 3, just like Eco mode is 1. You can see in the video what mode it is on. Power and active don't sound as good 😉

@@PedalhoundsTV you are makint assumtions. And second, E-MTB Mode on Bosch works differently than any of the Giant aisstance modes.
