Are you eating too many of these emulsifiers? Check ingredient labels to avoid them as often as you can!

So glad you covered this! I was curious of your thoughts since they are in most nut milks

I've come across your channel today and have subscribed already, thanks for the wonderful information. Short story about me, I have sibo and a few other issues like low platelets. I had Psoriasis for most of my life (41 now), but it had disappeared about 4 years ago or so. So I've always done my best to avoid stuff like high fructose corn syrup, which has helped with another issue I have, fructose intolerance. I've become really good at reading labels. For over 5 years now, I've been fighting hives and rashes, primarily on my face. Due to reactions to multiple products, I came to the realization over a month ago that I'm allergic to polysorbate. I've had to figure this out by myself due to doctors, dermatologists, allergists and more telling me stuff like it's seborrheic dermatitis and it's most likely nothing you eat. Since cutting polysorbate out of my products and foods, things have got much better. No more hives. I'm always open to any advice, but I have one main question at this time....Is potassium sorbate the same thing as polysorbate? Sometimes I still react (hives) when I eat out and if the offending meal doesn't have polysorbate in it, it most definitely will have potassium sorbate.

Thank you so much. I’ve really cleaned up my eating and ever more curious about what I consume, and I’ve still got room for improvement. I got curious with the ingredients of a packet of frozen prawns, which led me here. This is a no-bull crap approach, KISS. Thank you.

I am surprised politicians don't ban these products that contribute to current and future health care crises

They can't. Those in political positions to ban these products go on to work for the companies (for extremely high salaries) that put them in our food. It's a revolving door of the same people in political positions and industry. Very sad.

Hello! Thank you for the video. What do you think about locust/carob bean gum? It is in a few products I eat regularly.

What about polysorbates in skin care products. Still damaging the same way?

How about xanthan gum? I use it to make low carb milk.

I am not aware of studies showing concern for xanthum gum- typically used for thickening vs emulsifying.

2:20 "...these chemical emulsifiers are ONLY found in processed foods..." Not totally true, Lecithin is found in soy and sunflower, maltodextrin in rice, corn or wheat. Obviously only in trace amounts and not highly processed, but we cannot say they are ONLY present in processed foods

Yes, there are lots of “ natural” emulsifiers that are in whole real foods including mustard seeds, etc. and those are not a concern based on current data. thx!

The problem is is when these emulsifiers are extracted/isolated from the whole food and added to ultra-processed foods.
