Hi Marcus, This looks fabulous, I'm really looking forward to see just how you've made these modifications to the Cerbo/Rasberry Pi. Can't wait to see the rest of the series. Cheers

I also bought a Cerbo with a GX Touch display, to check if everything will work on RPi and Cerbo the same way. There are a some differences in the code, but the result is the same. That's one reason, why it take a little longer.

@@roadbuck ok but in my case I have a Raspberry Pi as you. And I have also some Shelly: H&T, 1 Plus with add on for temperature. I put an heating cable around the electric valve for grey waters to avoid it freezing

Hi Markus , thanks so much for the video and your initiative, for those of us who are not really handy, do you already sell this product already mounted and coded ready to be used?

Thank you for your feedback. There will be a solution for the hardware. I would say that 95% of the software is prepared. I would say that 95% of the software is prepared. I have written installers and in addition to the video tutorials there are detailed step-by-step instructions that even beginners should be able to follow. There are a few things that the user has to enter themselves, as everyone has a different configuration.

I don't understand how the ESP32 is communicating with the Cerbo GX. WiFi? Bluetooth? in which "language"? MQTT? Does it require a broker/proxy in between such as an access point? Is it via IPv4 using Broadcast or Unicast or Multicast? This tutorial is just a big picture.

This is super slick, and in MicroPython even! How did you create the custom panels/pages on the GX output?

Whou! First step finally here :) That means it will work only with cp plus installed, nor replacing it and talking directly with combi? Will it work with combi’s firmware v5? With your actual knowledge and future tutorials about lin bus, I’m thinking seriously about developing a new truma screen for gui2 (when finished and opened to third party developers) Thank you very much!
@roadbuck9 ай бұрын
Thank you for your feedback. Yes, actually the CP-Plus is obligatory. Maybe in the future there is a way to replace it. At this time it's good to have a backup control. There are people outside there who have much more experience and they did the "reverse engineering" of the iNet Box and without their great work my project wouldn't be possible. I don't know if it will work with v5 yet, but I'll check... regarding the GUI2... I see this as a great extension for the Venus OS. I will definitely look into it and see what is possible. For me, it's important that I have the information I need quickly and at a glance and don't have to scroll too much. Similar to the dashboard in a car. Speed, revs, fuel tank, etc. all at a glance.

Hi Marcus, thank you for you’re information. Can you help me and tell me how you fixed you’re lightplan in you’re RV. And which screen you use for it? Regards, Ron from Holland
@roadbuck8 ай бұрын
Hi Ron, what information do you need about the lightplan? I use actually three different screens. For the RPi in my "live" system I use the original Raspberry 7" Touchscreen. On my RPi development system I use the Raspberry Touch 7" as well and a waveshare 7" (amzn.to/3UCOlK4). On the Cerbo GX devsystem I use the Victron 7" screen..

@andreasliphardt94609 ай бұрын
Hi Marcus, great work. It would be a big improvement if it's possible to add a button to immidiatly switch off the heating instead of turning the "wheel" to zero like it is necessary on the CP+.😊

No Problem... that's done with a few clicks ;-) I've already thought about that. I'll place it at the top right corner (same as for the MaxxFan)

-- english translation below... Das nimmt Zeit in Anspruch... und paralllel dazu noch die MaxxFan Version ;-) ...aber es kommt -- english version Hi Ron, all graphics and designs are created with Affinity Designer: affinity.serif.com/ For me very good software at a fair price WITHOUT subscription obligation. I use the actuators from Shelly (www.shelly.com/) for light control. Mopeka sensors are definitely a step in the right direction. I use Ruuvi sensors for the temperature, which do an excellent job. I know that many people are awaiting the Truma module and I am working really hard on it. When I develop something for myself, it's very quick and easy because I program it for my needs. The "community edition" is a bit more complex because every configuration is different and I don't know them... Temperature, gas, water sensor... Grusse, Ron

RPi 3b+, because you don't need a fan to cool the processor and chipset. If RPi, you should also use the RPi Screen
