That was so piss easy even I could do it. Not that I would at 63yo. My back would last about 30secs leaning over the fender and then cripple me to my knees. But when I was younger, I would defiantly have tackled this job. The dealer charges around AUD$1000 to do this job.

The sealant ‘tip’ is not correct. Many Alfa mechanics add sealing compound when changing the water pump as they have known to leak with just the rubber gasket. To then change that would be a nightmare. 👎

It is correct. Ofcourse it will leak if you dont change the water pump with the new belt or use water instead antifreeze...

From my experience that has more to do with mechanics damaging the water pump seal mating surface with a screwdriver when prying it out. I fit my water pump seal with some grease, and never had any problems with leakages. The original design does not need any sealant unless the mating surface is damaged.

@@darthgator639 Don't these pumps come with a new seal anyway? Who cares about the old seal? I agree with you. A bit of Vaseline is all that is required.
