I really love furniture and homes from that time period. Our home was built in 1910. I’ve managed to find many pieces from that time period as well. Furniture was so elegant and well made back then. I was all ears as soon as you started talking about antique Vintage heavier and darker Furniture. Our House is decorated that way and I absolutely LOVE it. I get all Giddy and excited whenever I enter an Antique store or see pictures and Videos that portray beautiful old Funriture. I love the fact that Vintage and Antique Furniture has a Story to tell. I love the heavy Curtains but they are so hard to come by. I enjoy so much visiting those Old rebuilt Forts and Heritage Parks because there is so much History and the Houses, Furniture and even Kitchen Utensils and Decor is so enchanting, Love that word, it explains exactly how I feel about Antique decor and Furniture. Absolutely Enchanted☺❤

Hi Nikki, just finished watching this video and I want to thank you for acknowledging us women who feel the need to change our homes once in a while. It drives my husband nuts!!! He thinks I am the only woman on this earth that changes the inside of my home often. When I say often I mean moving furniture around. I use to be in to the Prim/Country look but have since let that style go as I have found it to be a very cluttered feeling and as I am aging I can't handle clutter. With the Prim/Country look I also realized that the dark colors were usually on the darker shade and I felt that between the clutter and darker shade of walls I was getting depressed. Since I have found your channel and have been binge watching your videos I realize that there is something very relaxing about your home. It is very airy looking and and has very little clutter yet very welcoming and I really love that look. I also want to say that your decor is a classic look that never goes out of style. It is so important to feel peaceful about our surroundings and I have to say that you have nailed that in your home. Thank you again for doing this video.

Hi Nikki, I now see what you mean about a new lamp. It is definitely enchanting and really complements the new desk. I have an exciting new thing happening in a few weeks - I am starting a Beginners Stained Glass/Lead lighting course. Most of my pursuits are rather academic so I decided to try something way out of my comfort zone and an artistic endeavour. I will let you know how it goes. Blessings, Cate

You are a creative and I believe that we are always evolving. Over time our tastes can change. I see that as a good thing. It means that we are growing, we are observing more and adding or removing a variety of things in our lives. For me, I believe that I am more comfortable in my skin, as they say. What I do, read, listen to , create and even in decorating, is a reflection of who I have become . Change can be good or bad, that’s true. But we are alive in God’s amazing world and to me, that means change , of any kind, is molding me into my best self. You are evolving. And it shows. Decorating is like trying on a new dress, not everything works. But, oh, when you put on that one special dress, it actually makes you feel good. I am working on, and I’m almost there, that everything that I wear makes me feel good about myself. Like anything, if not done to excess be it materially or financially, decorating can be very fulfilling. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas. Creativity breeds creativity.

Jewel box room! Sounds like that's what you may be leaning towards? Jennifer Scott's video on that is very beautiful...I'm sure you've seen it 😉 The home is a wonderful place to experiment. I am almost 42 and just painted my dinning room trim a sage green (grey walls) and I am so glad I did that! It always makes me happy when I walk in there! It is just decoration and paint. If you don't like it redo it! I'm glad we have the ability and options to try new things. Keep creating. And I know in our new house the style and decorating will be completely different! No fear in fun. 🙌🏼😆

The things from Family mean so much to me, as they all have so many memories. My things come from Great Grandmothers, Grandmothers, Mother in law and my Mom. I'm definitely of the design style that your speaking of. The desk sums my likes up pretty well. I love dark, moody, saturated jewel tones. Dark wood...preferably antique. Leather, stone, metals. In my living room, I have a wall of bookcases I painted black and changed the hardware to bronze. They look spectacular. One wall is a dark dark green called "Nocturnal Green". It's amazing. My bedroom is wall to wall deep greenish blue. I LOVE your lamp!!! I actually see you in that aesthetic. The moody, dramatic, enchanted effect. Not that your style isn't perfect for you! I don't mean that. I'm just not sure it's YOU you...again...I mean this is the kindest, respectful way. It's so hard to convey meaning through a keyboard. Lol. I'm 40 and like you said, I really settled into myself and my style more so now than ever. I'd done the silly colors in my 20s and more pastels in my 30s. Your right on track! Hahaha!!! I say roll with what's in your mind's eye!!!

I wish you the best if you decide to produce custom house dresses. Please be sure to thoroughly research your intended market. I have a BSBA, worked in retail and then worked as a buyer. I later opened a small sewing & alterations business in my home, which I ran for years. I didn’t make a lot of money because of the market I was serving. I also didn’t have the online options there are today, so you have that bonus.

i also ordered the amazon slip from belle poque in a champagne color, it's so beautiful and fits perfect but i literally can't wear it for long it's soo scratchy from the polyester lace on my chest it made me crazy sleeping in it, i cant imagine wearing it underneath something i am soo sensitive!😭

I'm sure I am not the first to suggest this, and it may be VERY late, but I think if you introduces grays (various shades) and navy in little doses, you will find a look that shows more than just one side of you.

Thank you for the suggestion. In my previous home I used gray tones and have worked my way out of them as they really depressed me and lack the personality of the colors that bring me joy and life. Navy and blacks do the same. They bother me so much I've even eliminated them from my wardrobe as much as possible except for sad occasions of course.

Hello Cindy, yes it is snail mail. A handwritten letter written by me is sent to each pen pal at least once a month. If correspondence is made I write back within that month unless it's really close to the next month's letter, I may just include my response in that letter. I also share one exclusive video a month with them in addition to the videos already shared on Patreon.
