We love this so much. Not only is it our forest ambience, we also play it during our everyday hobby time, miniature painting, chilling.

Starting the first session of a new campaign tomorrow. First time I’ve run in three years. What perfect timing for this to show up. You truly are a river to your people, Matt!

I just recently started up a new campaign after two years! Now I can't wait for my players to reach the faewild possessed jungle I made! Impeccable timing on Matt's part.

I got this in my packet and thought, "I don't really think I will use this." I have listened to it 4 times in 2 days. It's phenomenal.
@garyvincent73972 жыл бұрын
its just eerie enough for the feywild if combined with a white noise track that you put on very quietly, then when the players encounter something that you want to feel off, turn off the white noise, they don't know whats missing but the subconscious becomes confused and its very funny to watch as 4 people become so immersed that they all start referring to the character in first person :) enjoy using white noise to mess with the brains of your players

Didn’t know where else to put this but I just got the kingdoms and warfare hardcover book and it’s worth it for the cover art alone. It is easily the best looking book in my collection now and I love seeing the MCDM logo and the kingdoms and warfare font on the spine. Also this music is great for relaxing. I’ve been watching Matt since the first running the game and it’s inspiring to see how far you have all come. Thanks for all the content

An old stone path and some trees. The Druid froze, their eyes going wide with alert. "Gather your wits about you my friends, we are in danger." The Druid spoke with an edged, quiet calmness, as though they were all being watched by some nearby observer. The Rogue looked upon the Druid quizzically. Unsure how the Druid would detect something they did not. The Fighter looked about. And though they found nothing out of the ordinary, stayed alert. Though the Barbarian for their part took a defensive stance to cover The Cleric's blind spots and reached for their axe, while The Cleric looked confused before closing their eyes and quietly saying the prayer that allowed them to detect any intersection of magic and the material world about them. "Where?" The Barbarian asked. "I only see the stone path, trees." The Fighter spoke. Both matched the Druid's tone. The Rogue did not, speaking and standing nonchalantly, though in their sly way remaining the most alert and poised. "I noticed the path, but it's nothing. There's no claw marks, no disturbed plants, no tracks, no signs of anyone living around. And I doubt it's a ruin if that's what you're thinking. The stone isn't right. And there's no reek of the un-" "It's all around us." the Cleric chimed in with impressed bemusement. "Magic." Fearing the worst, the Rogue dropped all pretense of nonchalance and flanked the Fighter and Barbarian, forming a triangle around the casters. "Necromancy?" asked the Rogue cautiously. "No. I suppose everything but, though it's hard to tell. There's so much of it, I'm surprised I didn't notice sooner." the Cleric then continued. The Druid, who had seemed both alert and lost in thought until now finally continued. "It is a Fae Grove. No, mayhaps a Court." Where the others saw only trees, and The Druid chose to think well of them for supposing such an array was common in nature, The Druid recognized the arches and splendor for what it was: an entrance. "I think, yes, it must be a Court." They continued. "And one does not simply wander upon such an entrance. It can not be found without great effort in seeking. That is to say, we are, 'invited'." The Druid concluded solemnly. "I'd take that to mean we don't have a choice?" The Fighter asked. "To refuse a Fae-Lord is to invite misfortune." The Barbarian responded, and the Druid nodded in agreement though they were to each others backs. "Then it's the same as any court then really." The Rogue noted with a cool bitterness, as if softly pained by some old memory. "How bad could it be?" the Fighter asked with somber earnesty. "The Fae give both joy and sorrow as sharp as swords. They’ll want something, and if we’re lucky, it may be some boon for us. But if we are not so fortunate, we would be wise to negotiate, carefully, and foolish to refuse unless we must." Said the Cleric ominously. "And if we must fight?" The Fighter asked pointedly. “A Faelord is not made as the lords of our peoples often are, by words or circumstance, and relying upon the trappings of a society to control others to do their will. No, by necessity and definition Faelords are the strongest and most crafty of their kin and could make a Lord's realm crumble single handedly, by manipulation or force. At times they are only degrees away from divinity, if not beyond it.” The Cleric glowered as the Druid said the last words, but offered no objection. “Flight would be the safer course, but in either choice there is no safety. As I said, we are in danger.” There was silence and stillness among them, though distantly birds cried.

Oh no! Oh nooo! Oh noooooo! That part right at 29:00, the light piano bit. It sounds like something but I can't think of what! My weekend is catastrophically, irreparably ruined! Or I'm minorly inconvenienced for a bit while I futiley try to remember. Ugh.... It's the soundtrack from some other movie or show... or something? A sad/happy tune. Maybe Disney-related?

Check out "Guild of Ambiance" here on KZbin if you haven't seen them already. They've got some music but mostly soundscapes of various environments. We're talking haunted crypt to ship Captain's quarters to listening to the storm outside while curled up by the fire. Very well done and if that's the kind of thing you like for your table or to listen to while writing etc., I would recommend you give them a listen.

I feel like Azure is deceptively natural sounding. His ambiance is filled with very specific melodic phrases that echo multiple scores of note, and I'm not sure if he's doing it on purpose or not. But it feels purposeful and natural- like naturally random, as in whimsical and carefree- all at once.
