Here's an idea for the stadium name.. either the Trop stadium or Tropicana memorial stadium to keep the Tropicana memory alive

Why is this celebrated with fireworks?? I think it’s terrible to be destroying perfectly good, historical casino hotels. Waste of money…😡 shame on them!

Of course fireworks! It's to celebrate its run. That's true Vegas style. And as someone who worked there, I wouldn't say they were perfectly good. While until this moment they were the oldest buildings on the Strip (the Flamingo is older in name), Freemont hotels still have it beat. It was taking them ages to remove the asbestos in the walls, and the last owners ran it so hard into the ground they couldn't even sell it to anyone. That's why this ended up happening, haha. If anything it was a massive waste of money existing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Too much upkeep (especially when considering most of the property was pools) and they weren't profitable. That said, building a baseball stadium there is absolute madness.

The implosion is part of the history of the Tropicana, as well as history of Las Vegas. Land on the strip is expensive. It's better to have something modern that makes money, rather than a dinosaur that is a money pit.

Perfectly good? You sure about that? You want to pay to restore it?
