With all the rain the plants have just been growing so much from week to week this year that it has definitely been worth documenting it :) Thank you for watching!

The garden looks really beautiful. But I am especially impressed by how much the garden reflects your knowledge of the plantings. I have seen many gardens of people who know a lot about plants but are not very good at applying this knowledge. I have planned plantings for garden shows myself and know how difficult it is to weave the perennials together so well. So congratulations!

My mother has a large Garden and it has been an inspiration throughout the years a great deal of the knowledge about gardening that I have comes from her. I also enjoy watching Garden Shows and other youtubers - there is a lot of great inspiration out there. I have tweaked the Garden along the way and it has improved over time. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching.

What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday evening by viewing your beautiful garden. Greetings from Kentucky! I also grow Walker's Low Nepeta. Mine would flop as well. I put a metal peony ring over it in the Spring to help hold it upright. Like you, I try to avoid flowers with the colors yellow or red in my garden. I love how your garden has the calming colors of pinks, blues, purples, and chartreuse. I also have the rose, "Lady of Shallot". My David Austin roses are battling black spot as we are having high humidity, hot temperatures, and little rain. There is hope that we are coming out of the heat wave after next week with some rain. We only had two light rains in June in my area. Thanks for sharing your garden, James

Those are unfortunately conditions that favor black spot. Fingers crossed that the heat wave is in fact at its end. Here we could do with a couple of dry days even though I am thankful that there is not a heat wave remotely in sight here given the amount of plants that have been relocated in my Garden this year - it would have been a disaster. Thank you for watching :-)

I hope your health will stabilise and allow you to do all the things that you want to do!! Keeping my fingers crossed for all the plants that still need to be moved. I love your garden and seeing is evolve is so nice. I think I will need to move some bigger shrubs sooner or later too. Do you have any tips on how to go about doing that? I need to move a velvet hydrangea (macrophylla) for example. Since you have one as well: how would you takle moving that? I can't wait to see more of your garden. Get well soon and enjoy your beautiful garden. ❤

I must admit that I have no experience moving it. This is my 2nd Hydrangea Aspera - The first one I planted close to the pond area (bowl of water), but it never took and died on me. My 2nd attempt at growing Hydrangea Aspera is the one featured in the video. It has grown their for a couple of seasons now and is significantly larger then it was when I planted it. Given my history with it I can only give general advice: - Find a semi shaded spot, preferably out of the midday sun, my personal guess is that my first attempt at growing it got too much sun since the planting close to the pond area was not yet large enough to provide shade back then... - Water it a lot when having moved it -> it is to drive out any air pockets around the roots ensuring that they get good soil contact again. Sorry that I can't be more of a help here, the advice is a bit basic, but having killed 1 out of 2 Hydrangea Aspera's my track record is just not that good with them. Thank you for watching - I often get a bit sick in June and I am fully recovered already :)

@@MyGardenInDenmark Thank you so much for your answer. I'm glad you feel better already!! Do you have a rule of thumb you go by when you decide on how much of the rootball to try to preserve? Probably as much as possible while still keeping it a manageable size, but where is that sweet spot?xD
@MyGardenInDenmark5 ай бұрын
It depends a lot on how much top the root has to support, so yes, there is a ratio. However, I am not an expert in the matter, so I always go with as much as I can possibly move along with it. Depending on how it goes (How much of the root was left behind) reduce the top a bit / nip off a leaf or two (some a likely to get damaged anyhow). Since it is an ornamental plant, this will depend a lot on the current shape. Resist the urge to plant it deeper then it already was, see if you can get it in at the same height or a bit higher since the ground might settle a bit. Good luck :)

Im not really a day lilly enthusiast but now im swayed to try some. They just pop with color in your garden! I love everything about your space. Greetings from eastern WA state. Hot! We grow wheat and garbanzo beans for a living

I am also a daylily enthusiast. Yours look stunning. Do you know the name of the one at 4:58?
@MyGardenInDenmark5 ай бұрын
I believe that the daylily at 4:58 is "Sweet Home Louisiana". I purchased it back in 2020 from "Strictly Daylilies" in the UK, back when they still shipped to Denmark. I looked in their inventory, but I was not able to find it now.
