@TheChimples5 жыл бұрын
But he's not being honest is he? It's not his fault Kadri did what he did. It's not his fault the coaches played the wrong players. He's barely been the GM for a couple of years, how is much of this his fault? He's just publicly taking responsibility to take the heat off Babs and players. But make no mistake, behind closed doors reality will be spoken. Personally I'm not a fan of this...it's just a bunch of theater. I'm not sure the alternative, public drama, is the answer either but I'd prefer they would rather say nothing than lie the other way. Just say "we're not happy, we'll have internal discussions, we all made mistakes, we'll go forward trying to fix this". This BS I take responsibility for everything stuff from Dubas is just trying to make everyone around him that failed him feel guilty and at the same time impress his boss Shanny. Can't stand that kinda crap.
@dontworryaboutit2735 жыл бұрын
@@TheChimples agreed. I think it's actually him taking the easy way out by just saying "It's my fault for xyz." rather than speaking honestly about Bab's coaching, nylander's effort, and kadri's suspension. He's not actually saying anything. He words don't have any teeth.

Our D is the most important concern and I hope they address that either in the offseason or trade deadline. That Boston series the leafs choked in the final two games but I thought even through that they outplayed them for more of the series than Boston did to them. Everyone has their opinions but gardiner is gone and I think hainsey might be as well. Rosen is ready and despite his age I think Sandin might have a good shot at cracking the lineup. Sub those two guys in the lineup and you have lots more cap space. It'll be interesting to see what happens with Kadri and Nylander if he doesnt start off strong next season. Bracco is another marlie that could easily be subbed into the lineup next year. Marleau's contract is pretty heavy as well for what he brings. Nothing against Marleau. Love what he does for the team but at 6 million a year in a tight cap team theres not much room for a contract like that. It'll be interesting to see what happens this offseason and if Dubas has the balls to pull off some necessary moves.

Thats all going to come down to Marner, if he leaves it up to his Father and Agent to decide Marner will not be a leaf next year because the leafs wont pay what his Father and Agent think hes worth which means he will be offer sheeted and leafs get 4 1st round picks for him if he takes one of the offer sheets and leaves. If he makes the decision he wants to be a leaf and is willing to sign for what he should be worth comparable to other contracts of 9.5-10 Max then he will be back, but its anyone's guess

Hi Kyle you should have learned from last year your defence has a big problem why not try to get it fixed and if you keep going on the same way I believe the same thing will happen again fix the defence now.

@@moneyhands2339 Yeah seriously. Why have a captain who doesn't carry the heart of the team. Matthews gets the team going.

2:40 Kyle's raised eyebrows when being asked if he can trust Kadri moving forward tells me Kadri won't be here next year. And sadly, as much as I've always liked Kadri, I believe it's time to let him go to another organization where perhaps he can find a better fit where he won't feel he has to be the enforcer (of sorts). I think Brown moving out and having Enzo take his spot would also be beneficial (they both have good drive but Enzo has more talent - however, I don't know if they will be able to afford it). Well, that's my armchair critique for the season end. See ya'll next season (if I'm still interested after 50+ years of the same ol' same ol' (with the exception of a few seasons)).

fix that damn defense... get rid of Kadri for a defenseman... 3 years in a row of a first round exit... last chance for Babcock...

The leafs are developing into a great team. A few years ago we had the worst team in the league. Give it time. How many teams have rebuild without success. I’m sure they will improve next year. At least we aren’t cheering for those Montreal Canadians lol.

Going on pure statistics, Matthews is a hair-width 'better' than Marner. I would expect Marner to get around USD9-9.5m p.a.

Marner put in work he deserves 10m max. That can be done if Nylander is out the door cause he didn't deserve that 7mil he got

@Hockey2323 I haven't compared Eichel and Marner stats. My guess is the ceiling is higher for Marn, I just don't think Leafs can afford to pay him market rate...

We need a big tough guy around! Every team knows we are lacking in this area! They take advantage of this! That's why Kadri is the only one who goes it! Then fans take it out on him!
