This video is the product of the age with the jumpy cuts that feel like a step by step while assembling aside it forces you to go at 0.5x speed to 0.25x speed.

Thanks for all the beginner videos man. I just did my first ever print om my Ender 3 V2 after following all your tutorials (assembly, bed leveling, installing filament, etc). I was standing for like 10 minutes looking at it printing while preparing to abort if anything goes wrong (lol), but it never did. I cannot believe my first print went without any problem whatsoever. You rock man. Keep up the amazing works.

Absolutely the best tutorial for this one KZbin! Just picked this printer up since Microcenter has it at $99 with a special coupon and I've been wanting to pick a 3D printer up for a while. This tutorial really helped and showed the process better than any of the other tutorials I looked at. To be honest though, when I was getting super frustrated while confused by something, I got so pissed at this tutorial and all the others on KZbin lol I had an issue with the tensioner belt and spent over an hour messing with it because no tutorial showed/explained that the belt could only go in one way. Later, you said to make sure the wires went behind the vertical extruders, not in front but I'm the shot before, your wires were in front so that's how I put mine. Only to find that if I played the video for 3 more seconds, you would've said the line about it needing to be behind. Small nitpicks that mostly come down to me being a complete beginner. Thanks for the tutorial!

This is my first 3D printer so I have ZERO experience with any of this. Your assembly video saved my sanity. The printed manual is utter trash. I have to say a big thank you for this video. My other half has been wanting a 3d printer for a while, we finally took the plunge. Opened the box to find all these parts and a manual that was next to useless, so I said let’s KZbin it, and there you were. We followed your instructions to the letter. According to the video, your was a flat surface in the same face as the hotend but for me there is a hole. I’ve turned it and tried to fit it and it doesn’t work. This also doesn’t let me set up the other thing that slides. Do you know how to fix this? 8:33

The screw sleeve protective cover. Cut about 2 or 2 inches off and put it on after installing the filament step motor. It helps keeping the filament clean and grease free. Also using blue loktight on screw threads before assembly helps it from loosening up

We built our Ender 3 V2 following this one and used the 3 separate ones to level and load etc. We got a perfect dice and mains socket cover straight away. Such clear and concise instructions, very clearly based on real-life experience with the products helped us get up and running. Looking at the manual I very much doubt we'd have succeeded by following that as there were so many key tips in your videos which were not covered. Great stuff and keep up the good work. Have you tried loosening the z axis stepper motor mounting and seeing if it allows easier movement? This is the most common reason for any binding. If it helps then you need to look at removing the molding seam on the plastic block like I had to in the video.

Wow...great video! I just bought one from Micro Center for $99 using a special promo coupon. There is nothing wrong with this 3D printer. However, being aware of all those minor nuances, minor adjustments, and even adjusting factory preassembled parts is going to be key when I assemble mine. Seems to be many cases of people not being aware of what they should be aware of. :)

Hey, quick question! I've been following this tutorial religiously to assemble my first 3d printer. I've reached the point where you out the belt on, but to my dismay it doesnt seem to fit? I've triple chevked that i am using all the correct parts but the belt seems to be just half an inch or so too short to fit all the way around. Is there any common mistake I may be making? Or is there a possibility that the belt itself is too short?

FIY, for the screen, you do NOZT have to remove the nuts, just loosen them up a few turns and rotate them to lign up roughly with the slots in the extrusion. they should slot right in and will rotate to the correct position when you go to tighten the screw. easy peasy.

Have you loosened the adjuster? One of the rollers has a spacer with flats on it that you can turn with a spanner. Turn it whichever direction moves it away from the others to create enough of a gap to fit the channel through.

I wish I had seen this video before I put mine together last week! It would have saved me hours. My print bed Y axis rollers were just as tight as yours and there were a few aluminum shavings on the tracks too, so the motion had not only high resistance, but also some very lumpy spots. I put a paper shim under the outer edge of that Z axis motor mount to get the motor vertical. Your solution is certainly better. I also had to loosen the screws holding the nut that runs up and down the threaded rod to get it in a position where the rod aligned with the coupler. As received the rod was at least a quarter of an inch away from hitting the hole in the coupler. The M4x16 button head screws must be made of peanut butter. All three heads (and the spare as well) stripped and it was not due to a bad hex key. Some good quality alloy screws will be be arriving today to replace the originals, but NOT button head. Great video!

@@RickyImpey In case someone else runs into it there was one other thing that I didn't see until a few days later. The Z axis profile was not quite at a right angle to the verticals, (not quite 'horizontal'). It was about 5 mm higher on the right than the left. I solved it by Dremeling the holes in a couple of places to allow the profile to drop slightly. Mostly it was the clearance hole in the back of the profile for the nut on the end of the mounting bolt for the wheel immediately in front of the Z axis stepper. But now that I look at it some more, a guy could likely save himself a lot of trouble by lossening one or both of the wheel mounting bolts above and below the X axis stepper. There would probably be enough play there to allow the whole X axis affair to rotate down to where it should have been. Anyway, it all works great now. And I love the Jyers firmware!

I just unboxed and partially assembled my ender 3 V2 but I think I've run into a snag. The left X-axis tensioner rollers seem to be really tight and no matter how much I adjust the tension nut with my wrench/spanner, the rolers on the left cannot achieve that loose play that you've got in the video. Is there anything I may have done wrong or something I can do to get the correct tension I need?
@RickyImpey
@RickyImpey 2 жыл бұрын
If you loosen the adjusters on each side and the outermost rollers are still tight then either your frame is a little wide or the X axis gantry is a little short. Try taking the gantry off and loosening the screws that hold the end brackets on, pull them apart a little then re-tighten. Make sure to keep them aligned with the horizontal rail too though. Then, when you slide it back onto the vertical frame, do like I did in the video, and loosen the bottom bolts to allow the vertical frame rails to align themselves with the width of the X axis gantry. Hopefully this will give you enough movement to take out the tension.

Hi, ghosting is usually caused by vibrations on an axis. Without slowing down the print movement, I would be looking for any play you can find it the axis that is causing you problems. This can be loose belts, bad roller adjustment etc.

Thank you, wish I had seen this before using another one! Videos are great! Just got that model and think its set up but on trying the first print (the cat provided free on the sd card), all the printer does is move to home position, then turns heat off and nothing extrudes! Any help appreciated

Have you tried any other prints? Try and see if it's isolated to that one g-code file. I know it shouldn't be but I find it best not to assume anything when trying to diagnose an issue.

@@S27PSA Well, if it's doing it on every file you try then unfortunately it's very likely to be an issue with the control board or even firmware. I would see what your options are with a replacement first. There will be a fix but it shouldn't be at your expense if it's misbehaving from new. If you followed everything in the video, then it is very unlikely to be something you have done wrong. I found Creality to be pretty good on getting a printer I bought up and running when it came with a faulty part. See what your return options are first but come back to me if you want to go down the route of trying to diagnose further.

@@RickyImpey thanks Ricky made progress today and did contact Creality support; hmmm jury out on that experience! But they did say to reset config and reprint a file they sent and it appeared to work but then the model print went all over. Fortunately having watched your tramming vid ☺️ I did it again a few times and booom it printed! Excited was an understatement! Thanks again for your help and your vids which I’ll be watching closely 🤓

Wow, this is the reason mine, that I bought 2 yrs ago, is still in the box. As a complete beginner to 3d printing I saw a KZbin video on how to assemble this and got completely scared I'd mess up and thought it was way too much for me. Waited another year and bought another brand/model that was soooo much easier to assemble than this. Now that I've been 3d printing for almost a yr I just might give it a try.

I'll do the build and follow your sage instructions. My first 3d printer. I hope the muffler brushes work okay 🤞

Hello, very good tutorial with very little problems until now, at the part where you had to sand down your plastic bit, I was also having problems, but I used a level and the top part that the rod initially goes through is askew rather than the bottom part. I was wondering if you know about this problem or if you know a way to fix it.

I'm not sure I know exactly what you mean. On the V2, the z axis lead screw is clamped in the coupler at the bottom and passes through a thread in the X axis carriage. Is it this thread that is not straight? If so, then I haven't seen that before. Have you tried loosening the fixings a little? They shouldn't be tight, they should allow a little movement which will probably allow the screw thread to sit straight.

@@RickyImpey Thanks for answering! This helped a lot but there's still a little binding near the bottom of the rod, I'm going to try sanding down the piece you mentioned just in case, thank you!

thank you so much for this video, it has helped me a lot. many of the things you warn about, recommend, and mention in the video are tiny details that i would've completely fubbed up or never even thought about if i had followed the regular instructions. me for about 10 minutes: OH GOD, IT'S OFF BY EXACTLY A MILLIMETER AND IT'S NOT BECAUSE OF THE PLASTIC, IT'S BECAUSE OF THE PART ITSELF! WHAT DO I DO!? 2 seconds after resuming the video: "...as long as it's not off by more than about a millimeter..." me: (walter white smiling meme)

If you mean a slicer, I use Cura like a lot of people. When it comes to designing your own parts, I use Fusion 360.

A discussion of the adjusters would be nice, it took me way to long to figure out they are cammed and that not all of the screws have adjusters on them. Other than that, great video with lost of useful tips.

Really good to start and turns bad quick. When assembling the printer head he skips over a lot of stuff like it is self explanatory. The belt for instance he just skips by and does not show where it goes. Very confusing. Also he says don't put it on upside down and the keeps going. Does not show which way is upside down. Smh I'd be better off with the Chinese instructions.
