Useful tip: make a furnace with the blackstone and smelt the gold swords with your sticks as fuel source (which u can get from the wood), you can get golden nuggets hence getting gold a lot faster

I watched the montage of getting enough blocks to create the staircase in absolute horror, I'm pretty sure your method of waiting for a skeleton to spawn was just flawed. The probable reason for the low skeleton spawn rate when building directly on the roof is that the entire area below the roof was able to spawn mobs. Towering up reduced the number of available spawn locations to just the ones you had access to.

You need to be between 16 and 128 blocks for a mob to spawn, at the start you were too close to the blocks, and that's why skeletons didn't spawn

I loved this so much, here is a challenge suggestion. Can you get elytra & a dragon head, with out killing the ender dragon? Get to the end & use a block generator to build out & find the 2 items & bring an ender chest to get them back to your base. They say the dragon was placed on the center island & protected because it is the last of it's kind. The old builders hunted the dragons until only one was left, that was saved & protected by the faction of old builders that left wanting to protect the dragon. Mat pat even made a story from the lor of the game. Getting a dragon head & elytra is seen as an end game & I don't think u need to kill the dragon! What do u think?

Exp dropped after death is only changes whenever the Level exceeds 7 or another exp orb that dropped from outside of the player . Example you died with 10 levels of exp whenever you pick it up it will only give 7 levels of exp.

Since you allowed changing difficulties, the best way to cause mobs to spawn on the blocks is to change from hard to peaceful, let all mobs despawn, then back to hard, let mobs spawn (faster on hard then on lower). Could saved yourself that staircase. But yes, the staircase worked that efficiently cause it allowed you to go far enough away so mobs will despawn under you, and have less spawnable spaces for new ones to spawn, so its still amazing if your difficulty is locked

I saw another MC video about starting a skyblock world by just standing on 1 grass block. That's it. No lava in a chest or a tree or anything. And surprisingly a lot was possible, most of the overworld things were possible, but there's just no way of getting that lava bucket without scooping it up from somewhere naturally generated. When you were farming zombified piglins, you could have used the blackstone to create a furnace and smelted the golden swords for golden nuggets. Ive learned that you can beat minecraft almost in any way. well, except for spawning in the void. but all other spawns and playstyles are able to be productive!

Very cool challenge! Spawn rates can be optimised though. If the spawning block is surrounded by mushrooms they will lead to pack spawning, drastically improving spawn rates. With a few additional spawning blocks you'll have much higher rates. I'm guessing this would be a lot faster than grinding long enough to staircase up like 128 blocks, even though mobs will still spawn below the nether roof.

Great video but I was wondering why at 12:13 when you got your first obsidian you didn't get the achievement, not saying its faked just wondering why.

I'm not sure? I must have had obsidian at some point when setting up the world(getting it so I can respawn on the roof and getting to the right cords)

@@EnderSkull11 I think it was because even when you’re in creative, you need a nether portal to get to the nether.. so you just build one, chose the spawn, and got on the roof.
