That is how you win a game, by giving an uncalled flagrant foul to a threatening player like CC. Ref should be fired.
@MaryHolt-p2l9 сағат бұрын
The WNBA needs to ban long fingernails. Those so called refs need to rule like they are suppose to.
@simontan21737 сағат бұрын
Great call on both points. I am surprised that that isn't already in place in a PROFESSIONAL league. EVERY dude pick up game makes you get rid of anything that could hit someone in the eye or scratch another player. an injured person could sue the WNBA for failing to create a safe workspace where there is a reasonable expectation of being hit.

Ah, it's the finger nail's fault. How about the ghetto rat that did the deed?

You can take a person out of the ghetto but not the ghetto out of the person. So much for bring people together. Ever wonder why people have trouble with a certain people

Carrington grew up a rich, spoiled girl. Her father was NFL. All private schools with White students. She has anger issues towards Whites.

People talk that way when they're desperate honestly I'm a Latino and AAs are wanting to rule with an iron fist, they want to control the narrative so they control their world SMH
@bill_of_rights56486 сағат бұрын
If I were coach of the Fever, I would not play Caitlin for the rest of this series unless the WNBA takes immediate action and suspends Carrington for, at least, the next 2 games. An intentional eye stab with finger nails could have blinded CC for life in that eye. I would not let these criminals continue to commit any more felony assaults on my franchise player. Protecting CC by holding her out of this series would create a firestorm with fans and with the sports media, bringing needed attention to these targeted crimes against Caitlin.
@dougsimmon74606 сағат бұрын
These girls are so envious of CC , the only way they can compete is without CC , so they want to take her out , shows exactly who they are as a person !!!

The WNBA has been given many chances to clean their act up. They are not only hurting themselves but CC could have be seriously injured. what, for long pointy nails and long pointy lashes and jealousy out of this world?!?
@ultimatelv276 сағат бұрын
Was it a deliberate act? 1000% YES!!!! They also need to ban fake nail extensions--so freaking ridiculous how they are even allowed rn.
@arikafek6 сағат бұрын
carrington should get a flagrant 2!!!!! post game. she decided the game in the worst dirty manner possible.
@corinnerudz79217 сағат бұрын
The executives of the WNBA need people to be business people, not necessarily former basketball players. Even a mid-level business manager would know what to do to get this league straightened out.

This was an assault.. The commissioner should have already issued a statement.. Boy the drama is getting to be a bit much.. After 4 years of Trumps BS I'm about over these vindictive women and their pettiness. WNBA is pulling at the last nerve and I'm about to stop following / watching their games.

CC should quit the WNBA!

No, it is her dream. Bullies need to be held accountable and they need to quit. Caitlin is everything the WNBA needs.

Lol nope wnba is a woke dumpster fire, most players prolly love seeing cc get bullied, if she leaves they lose that billion dollar deal and clark has a better life lol
@jacquelynhorton3736 сағат бұрын
@@davwes8594 We know they're haters and so be it. However, the strength, integrity and respect continues to increase for Caitlin. Her responses are mature, professional and thoughtful. It is a cultural shift. Think about it this way, if people who were instrumental in a culture change left nothing will change. I can assure you these other players aren't getting ANY deals. I absolutely respect Caitlin, the Fever team and Sides. Let's go.
@Neil-ht8fv5 сағат бұрын
Caitlin should sue the WNBA for not providing a safe work environment. Then she should move to Europe after she collects. There's a big difference between accidental contact, and outright assault, people need to quit acting stupid like they don't know the difference.😠

Didn't the head coach of the New England Patriots NFL team once say, "if you're not cheating, you're not trying." This seems to pervade the professional sports in the Boston area.

Part of me also wishes CC would leave this Bullshit " league" behind. Her true gift is how she can touch lives, and will continue to do so wherever life takes her. Half a century ago I was a college point guard, and ref to the JuCo level after. Dumbfounded by how these games are called.

WNBA collective bargaining agreement, Article XIV Player Conduct and Discipline Section One: Player Obligations Players shall at all time conform their conduct to standards of good citizenship, good moral character, and good sportsmanship and shall not do anything detrimental or pre-judicial to the best interest of the WNBA, their teams, or the sport of basketball. I believe Carrington with her intentional malice to inflict harm to Caitlin Clark, breached the WNBA collective bargaining agreement. I believe the league should impose the agreed-upon discipline which in this case should be at least suspension for one game. Because of the intentional malice there is also question of criminal assault.

I actually saw an email exchange with Suns coach where she talks about "going hood on Caitlyn" and trying to give her a corneal abrasion which would require wearing a contact lens bandage for a week in order to heal correctly, which would take Indiana out of the playoff effectively.

Carrington should should have been arrested when it happened for aggravated assault, tried, convicted and sentenced to at least 3 years in prison because this was planned with forethought and malice.

What new footage? How about a pic of the defender's fingernails? I agree that long fingernails in BB are a hazard to the players. I'm not up on the rules, if any, for fingernail length but long fingernails are dangerous.

Clearlt deliberate. Look at Carrington's eyes.
@scottjanes90746 сағат бұрын
The fake claws and hair extensions should not be allowed in this league, its ridiculous. They're always flailing their hands around as if they're swatting at gnats or something, especially under the basket. Im surprised there hasn't been a serious eye injury before now.
@markymark9594 сағат бұрын
It was definitely an attack and she aimed for her eyes….I saw it live….the league has no credibility if they don’t post game suspend and fine that player….ridiculous

This is Netballs regulations on nails, so why not basketball? Nails Nails must be short and smooth. As a guideline, nails should be no longer than 1mm long and should not be seen from the underside of the finger. This is to protect other players from injury. Nails will be checked by umpires before match play. If you’re told your nails are too long you will be asked to file them down, otherwise you cannot play. All netball rules and regulations must be adhered to by all players and officials, ensuring fair play and enjoyment by all.

no way black women are indicative. They show love and tolerance to all white players. Meaning white basketball players. not clubbing players

The disturbing part of this is that her teammates never have her back. The ghetto girls game would have been over, if CC were my teammate. As soon as the Fever are elimnated everyone will quit watching the rest of this trainwreck and it will show up immediately in the attendance & ratings.

MAN THIS IS HORRIFYING WHAT SHE DID, IS NO DIFFERENT THAN WHEN THAT ICE SKATER TOOK OUT THE KNEE OF HER OPPONENT , TO STOP HER FROM COMPETING !!

Well im not a fever fan. I hope she's be all right. Their nails need to be cut while playing. A'JA doesn't wear long nails while playing. At my job we can't wear long nails while working with patients. I'm a Resse fan. I like CC I think she is a nice person . I love competition not dirty competition. I prayed her eyes would heal. It's just too much going on with this league. real good Resse fan we didn't like it . Thomas did the same thing to Resse She grabbed Resse by the neck after her shot. Thomas could have broken her neck. She hit her head hard. I was hot mad It doesn't take all that. She did get kicked out of the game. The couch still should have complained.

I luv CC, but this has to stop and this video is bs. Indiana was 1-3 against Connecticut this season. And in 3 of those games Carrington flat out out played CC and the other game was a wash. Given her success playing straight up against CC this year, there is no reason at all for Carrington to try and hurt CC intentionally.
@safromnc86166 сағат бұрын
Just because there is no reason doesn't mean it didn't happen nor that she lacked the intent. Get a clue
