1. Having TWO properly functioning eyes is what GIVES the human depth perception. Depth perception is what is required for "shooting" the ball. Hence NO one-eyed 3 point shooters in the NBA. 2. A significant injury to the eye will cause swelling, raising the pressure within and distorting the focus point. Creating a condition where sighting an object (the rim in this case) is more difficult if not impossible. 3. The referees did not stop the clock for the Clark eye injury as they ALREADY knew the bench clock officials had a number of fast break "killers" programed into the "official" equipment. 4.
