For those who don't know: The original Pokemon Gold and Silver were marvels of programming. It was only due to a file compression system created by Satoru Iwata specifically for the game that it was able to be as big and open and colorful as it was. If it wasn't for Satoru Iwata, pokemon as a series may not have lasted past gen 2. Speculation aside, it is undeniable that the series owes Iwata greatly for its practically unrivaled success. Thank you, Satoru Iwata, wherever you may be.

From 2:40-2:45 you can hear the Pokemon Main Theme in the back. Considering that Gold and Silver were originally supposed to be the final games in the series, the homage to the main theme is super fitting.

Definitely! My opinion had changed alot since i made this comment lol If i had to make a list of top five ending themes, it would be: 5. X/Y (Both Endings) 4. FR/LG 3. Blk2/Wht2 2. HG/SS 1. OR/AS Also, D/P/PL was amazing, but, i feel it lost the pattern and easy going rhythm toward the end of the song...

Well, Gen 3 was after Pokémania. It still did good but needed a while to reach higher sales. There is a story with Masuda going to hospital because he made himself go crazy, thinking Pokémon would fail and the popularity went back too much

the thing I love so much about HG/SS is that the remakes made Johto better than gen 2. Not only in looks but also in story, mechanics, music and pretty much every aspect imaginable. It wasn't a copy and paste like BDSP, and it wasn't a completely different game like legends arceus even though both of those games are great in their own regard, but HG/SS is way better.
