Heads up the veto system no longer exists in game.

02:20 - I get invitations for alliances from the AI on a constant basis (and i am pretty sure that i joined some even when i had no "perfect negotiation"-tech.). Maybe because i am usually the one with the biggest fleet. Really helps getting "friends" ^^
@joethesheep46757 жыл бұрын
however. i never saw the AI making alliances without me... which kind of sucks because once u have an alliance the game is basically over.

@Waervyn's World Is it possible to have a four player alliance? including yourself? The united empire declared war on me and i kicked their butt as the vodyani, and now they want peace and an alliance, but i also want an alliance with the unfallen and the sophons who already created one and i'm at peace with both.

You think you'll update all these videos? Including faction summary ones? You're currently the only youtuber who does stuff like this, could be a good niche for you!
@ANGH3LL1C4203 жыл бұрын
I think for the Riftborn you can get Alliance technology as early as HyperPACs. I've only ever played with the Riftborn and I usually have to research HyperPACs to form alliances. Perfect Negotiations usually has something else, but iirc the tech tree changes depending on your Faction Affinity, so for the Cravers, it may be further up in the tree due to their warlike nature.

Thanks very much for this! I was trying to get the Riftborn achievement for being in an Alliance with three other non-Riftborn factions, but once I had two other allies, I couldn't work out why it wouldn't even give me the option to ask other factions to join the alliance. It's because there were only six players in the game (including me), so I guess that means the maximum size of an Alliance was limited to three factions (including me). D'oh!
@Finwaell5 жыл бұрын
huh, so that is where that veto button was hiding.. was missing it from previous games. Btw alliance tech is different for each race, for example horatio gets it one or two tiers sooner, not sure now.

Thanks for you guides Waevyn. Questions:1. I noticed on the screen where it shows all the holograms of the races that the cones you highlight to talk to different races have varying degrees of shading (blue and red). Does it mean something to have more of a blue shaped cone? Is that referring to pressure? Also on the diplomatic screen when you are talking to a race, what all affects pressure? What does that translate to in game? Thanks.
@WaervynsWorld7 жыл бұрын
Cone indeed seems to be influence pressure. Guide about that hopefully coming up this weekend. If not it'll be in two weeks due to a work trip coming up :)

All my allies are distressed because I am apparently not giving them military aid when they ask, but I always send a fleet to their markers. the tutorial didn't say I should be doing anything different. When my allies thank me for the support it seems to be random, I didn't help them in that turn. Anyone know how to help them properly? They're all AI by the way - Sophons, Unfallen, and Horatio

I've encountered this a lot. I've noticed that it doesn't negatively impact the relations with that faction, assuming they don't get decimated. I think it's a bug.
@JBrander7 жыл бұрын
For some reason when you invade a system that is within the influence of another faction that is in your alliance, the system won't belong to you. It will belong to the faction that has it's influence around it. Even though you were the one who invaded it.
@WaervynsWorld7 жыл бұрын
I did not know this, thanks!
@JBrander7 жыл бұрын
But I don't know if what I said was really the case here. What happened was I was gonna invade an enemy solar system with some really good strategic resources but it was sorta inside the borders of an allied faction. When I finished invading it, I got a notification that that system now belonged to the allied faction. I got real salty.
@joethesheep46757 жыл бұрын
You're ally may have bought it with influence. There is a tech that allows you to buy systems within your influence zone. And allies do that... experienced it once (in my chase my "ally" bought one of my systems on his border....it was a Lumeris-AI ofc. ;-)
@joethesheep46757 жыл бұрын
as far as i know u can't buy systems this way when u are at war or have a truce with the corresponding fraction.

Love endless space but worry that it's over complexity may cause some game mechanics unbalanced and it would be hard to notice if that was the case.

Im not sure I buy the limit on alliance being half the number of players rounded down. A week or so ago I had a game where a vodyani declared war on me and I turned it into a four on one. It was myself as Lumeris, sophons, riftborn and unfallen against the vodyani who was also at war with the cravers at the time. It was a six player map and I had an alliance of four. So unless they changed it amd I missed it in the patch notes you should be able to have more. You also forgot to mention that both Lumeris and Unfallen have unique alliance techs. The lumeris one gives a 30% decrease to the cost of treaties and the unfallen one gives 10% dust and science per alliance. The AI will ask for alliance but they have to be friendly with you and have the tech so it is pretty rare. I mainly use alliances for defensive reasons and to boost my fidsi and to occasionally loot the AI through diplomacy. when your making gobs of influence and luxuries I trade off some of my excess for other luxuries metals or sciences from the computer

I've had the AI make alliances on me, but that was an earlier patch. It's been much less since then, so I think it might have to do with them tweaking AI behavior.

How do you shift the influence pressure to positive? I can't find it! It's really really really frustrating me, good video tho ;)

By putting pressure on the other empire, either by giving gifts and proposing positive diplomacies like map sharing, or by making demands and diplomatic embroglios

2:21 that is correct i tested it, i made an alliance with horatio and united empire then left becouse horatio was being a d***. anyway when i asked the united empire to alliance i got right back in with both united empire, horatio and the name of the alliance remained unchanged. i also finally understand why i couldnt get the unfallen into the allience aswel, simply to many members thanks lad 6:19 this is not true, i got a once in a multiplayer game where this was a thing i wanted peace together with a budy but a random wanted war. the guy got what he wished for and we got into war with a faction but then again we can turn that back
@gregking2167 жыл бұрын
You can test the veto in single player by making a veto then finishing the game and then go back and change the veto and finish the game if the veto did not work nothing would change the outcome of the game if you played it the same way.
@WaervynsWorld7 жыл бұрын
Sure, if you would write down every single step along the way. Because if you didn't, any small change in one turn might have a big effect on later turns. Also, depends on if the random number generator is the same in the save game (which it isn't, during the tutorial making I sometimes reloaded savegames, and got completely different quests etc.). So actually, it's not possible, as there will always be confounding factors.

Your custom made Waervyn Dominion Craver faction has attribute "Eternal War" in this video, yet at the same time you are at an Alliance? with other factions and a can switch from war to peace, and peace to war back like you did with the vodyani's and Lumeris respectively. How are you able to do that with the "Eternal War" Attribute present?

@Jovian9997 жыл бұрын
If Militarists aren't the incumbent party, Eternal War doesn't matter. changing the party let's you play the Cravers a bit differently.
@topher_69eze7 жыл бұрын
Jovian999 hmm..i see, interesting, this is very useful. Does this mean at some point Craver AI may one day enter peace with other factions when military party isn't present or the leading party. what of other traits it has such as *pacifist events support military party* or *pacifist events give LESS support to pacifist party*, how do these relate or affect a party that may not exist to be favoured?
@WaervynsWorld7 жыл бұрын
You're in an autoacracy, you can choose which political party your government will have. However, indeed, if you go for pacifist like I did in my Let's Play, expect your entire population to be unhappy, as they all have militarist leanings and thus give you a -3 happiness penalty per population as they are not represented in the government.
@Jovian9997 жыл бұрын
I've never seen the AI deviate from its Militarist default, for that reason. With the autocracy government type a player can set the party every election, but Cravers are so fanatically militaristic that I don't think the AI ever reaches the point where changing it is considered beneficial. Even if they could, the AI personality for the Cravers is very aggressive and unlikely to produce many other political leanings in its population. Waervyn's LP shows how hard it is to get them functioning with a non-native party. Also worth noting that Waervyn isn't playing with a custom faction, "The Waervyn Dominion" is just a title the game comes up with based on your username and government type. :)
