Great video guys. I have been part timer for going on 20 years now and have loved every moment. In Rving, there are going to be painful lessons learned, but hey, that's life. But I can say that the good memories and people that I've met do outweigh the bad. This is a great country in which we live. There is much to explore right here.

We sold our small farm in Maryland 19 years ago. We have been full-timers ever since and never looked back. Our life on the farm was wonderful and our full-time RV life was just as wonderful. Unfortunately, my loving sweetheart passed away 11 months ago of leukemia, just shy of our 18 years on the road and 1 month shy of 34 years together. He was diagnosed on January 3 and passed away on January 20th, 2024. We always talked about the day when one of us would pass on and we agreed whoever was left would keep on traveling and carry the other ones ashes and that is what I’m doing. I have no plans on stopping anytime soon. I am in good health and can handle our RV. We have met hundreds of rv friends all across the country. I have no problem being or traveling by myself and I am doing very well and grateful for the time I had with the love of my life. Thank you for everything you do for the RV community. God bless you both, safe travels and Merry Christmas. 💙🇺🇸🙏

We were in the same boat at retirement. We had originally planned to buy a lake house which would have been a great investment by now but we chose a depreciation motorhome which we have lost tons of money on but wouldn’t change a thing. Ours memories of traveling this country and the friends we have made are priceless. We also would never go full time. I couldn’t bear to leave my kids and grandkids but we are gone every single month somewhere. Enjoy!

Hi Guys! You pretty much nailed it with your bullet points. We agree about full time vs part time. It is important to us to have a home base with family and friends to come back to, or at least the familiarity of your own home.

Been retired for a year. Traded in my 7 year old travel trailer for a fifth wheel and travel with my current 4 dogs. I can spend a month out but then ready to get back to my farm. Dogs do well camping but read to get back where they have more room to run. Also can have post office hold mail for 30 days, longer and friends can check a couple of times when stopping to check on the cats. Main reason originally for getting a camper was to have a place to stay for dog shows/trials. Still one of big uses but also love going places near hiking trails.

We were Fulltime for almost 5 years. Last 6 years we have been halftime RVers. Homebase is a 55+ RV MH resort in Deep South Texas along the Rio Grande and 45 minutes from South Padre Island. We are now out on the road up to 6 months at a time. You hit some important points. Our Class A gas 2011 Bounder has given us very little trouble (knock on wood). We learned to give up all those high Maintenace, expensive, time-consuming choices from our life before RV. No more hair color, mani-pedis or coach bags. We now focus on experiences and spending a lot of time in nature. So much more peaceful and freeing.

We are only 2 years on the road as fulltimers, but agree 100%. We are doing this for 3-5 years to see as much as possible all the while looking for the next place put down roots. For doctors and dentist, we kept those from our last home base. We scheduled our yearly appointments and plan our travel around those dates. For the 6 month visit to the dentist, we get recommendations from family or friends that are in the area where we currently are. Part of this journey is to see friends and family more than we could before. If a health emergency comes up, there are ER’s everywhere. In fact, while in Alaska we had to visit an ER. No problem…insurance coverage for us includes that. Happy Holidays to you and the family. 🎄

Hey Izzy, hey MJ, I really enjoy y’all‘s videos. My wife and I haven’t really picked out our RV yet but we are definitely looking. We’re thinking possibly a Rpod 202. It’s nice to actually not see a lot of of the glitz and glamour of our life because the reality is just like y’all have said it comes with the cost. But I can honestly say that some of the best memories I have were going with my grandmother and grandfather and their RVs that they had. Totally awesome and I really want that for my family. My kids are grown and gone, but my wife and I Still want to get out there and explore. I am a huge adventurous and constantly looking for cool places to go. It also helps that I’m a travel nurse lol so I get to see brand new places for 13 weeks at a time. Also, you did mention going to see doctors as well as possible health problems on the road. May I suggest getting a Jace case which has five of the most popular anabiotic’s. Yes it is kind of pricey but I think when you’re on the road, it can definitely be a lifesaver. I literally get an updated one every year and keep it with me as I travel. Anyway, keep making videos because I definitely will keep watching. Love y’all’s channel and the content that you guys put out. Have a very Merry Christmas 🎁🎄 ❤

Merry Christmas! I think you hit a lot of good points. Yes it is expensive. I don't know how some who can't do the simple things can afford it. I have my RV in the shop right now to replace the inverter. Currently flat rate/shop time is $239.00 an hour. You are right on about travel. I move my luxury condo to a new place and use my car to explore the area.

100% about the experiences. My wife and I have talked about this many times. We're fortunate enough to be able to fly anywhere, and could do it for free with airline miles and hotel points I've built up at work, but we'd miss all the stuff between point A and B. Those are the experiences that we remember the most.

I bought a 2000 Monaco Dynasty when it was 17 years old and yes, there has been many things I have fixed and a couple things I have had to have fixed. I full-time and have been for six years and I have never been stuck on the side of the road. The key I believe is by a well built older diesel pusher, preferably built in the Oregon area. Hopefully that’s what you will be looking at for your next rig.

Hi guys, Amen to #2. A motorized rig is expensive to own and operate and as you go up the ladder, like a diesel pusher, it really skyrockets. Anyone that thinks it is like owning a car is in for the biggest shock of their life. The more expensive…the more complicated. 👍

You are always going to have issues with an Rv. Luckily for me, so far, I’ve only had a control board on the refrigerator die. Worked on gas, not electric so I kept going. As we transfer to FT we are working out the bugs now. Update the lithium and solar. KZbin is great to fix it yourself. I fixed my fridge. Next project is a Flexarmor roof. They will leak but once this is done, I won’t leak up there 😂. I will have new tires on and a battery for the coach prior to leaving. Should be good for a few years 🤷🏼‍♂️. I will say the less technology and “moving parts” is always less to break. So keep it simple, it’s more “work” to set up or tear down but it’s always less to break on the road. Boondocking is definitely the way for me 👍🏼 21 months for me 😊 How about the Social Security fairness act 👍🏼 probably helps you out later on, thank the IAFF, you’re welcome 😉

Wholesale warranty is clutch! Our RV was at the dealership shop getting end of initial 1st year warranty items covered. The day I picked up our RV was the day AFTER our 1 year warranty. They dropped it off in the pick up spot and I backed our truck up to it. Guess what; jack died. While at the shop! Immediately, wholesale warranty kicked in, 350 dollars saved and a better jack was installed. Do not buy an RV without an extended warranty and make sure it covers everything or buy it from another provider.

As you guys know, I spend a ton of time in hotels, usually around 150 nights a year. It pays the bills. In a hotel, you don't build memories as often. Also, you will always end up with neighbors who are inconsiderate. If that happens at a campground, they are 25' away, not on the other side of a paper thin wall.. I can make more money, I can't make more time or memories.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I love camping, my husband, not so much. We have had 4 different pull behind campers. Every one of them had problems. All was bought used except for our current camper. Which has had more problems combined than the 3 previous ones! We bought our new camper in 2019, before Covid! We don’t get to camp as much as we would like to because of our jobs. Our reason for buying campers is because I think hotels are mostly disgusting and we have 2 toy/mini poodles. My husband would rather stay in a hotel, but I just can’t stand the thought!! So I understand why you chose to have a RV!! Happy Camping and Safe Travels!
