We use the Garmin RV GPS and have found it very reliable. Even when I have serious doubts about a GPS direction, "Gypsy" is usually correct. My wife checks traffic with her smart phone. I'm very old school and must have a hard copy atlas. With maps, GPS and smart phone, we have managed quite nicely.

Great video Izzy and MJ! Nice seeing Jason at the end. Rub it in you had Bucees. lol! Wow! The weather was not good at the show. That’s sad. Matt won! I was wondering who won on that bet. You all are so funny. I live you guys! I remember my sister using her Garmin GPS. Her took her down the road. She had to turn around get back on track. Thank you Izzy and MJ! Great video!

I was in Pittsburgh/ Washington KOA and my Garmin put me in a parking lot in a church. Good thing I tested the route in the car before using it in the motorhome.

I mainly use Waze or sometimes Google Maps on my phone to find locations until one time we were headed to Yosemite this past summer and ran into dead signal spots. Had to pull out my old Tom Tom again as a backup since phone's are not reliable in mountainous areas.

That's my biggest worry living in the Chicagoland area. Never know what we're going to come home to. Unfortunately it limits our winter traveling.

Enjoyed seeing you in Tampa! We are still in Florida and it's still unseasonable cold. We've been using a Garmin RV890 for the past 2 years and it has been great, but I always check for software updates before heading out. Paired with the Garmin Drive app on my phone it also does a great job of providing traffic and weather updates.

What a great trip !! Surprised at the Garmin issues. We use the Garmin RV GPS as well. I also have my personal cell phone with the RV Life GPS going (not convinced on that one), my work phone is on WAZE as a back up, and I have Missy with her phone on the standby in case I have a conflict or something doesn't look right. We are thinking for next time we go to try and get in on the AIM Rally. We are members and I looked into it for this year but was too late to register. I think being close certainley has advantages, walking to the show, coming back to the rig for lunch, etc.. This way if Missy wants to chill out with Ginger I can go back and people watch, LOL !! Not sure we will be back in 2025, may skip a year, we'll see.. Great job on all the videos and glad you made it safely.

Hunker down in deep snow. It'll melt...lol. if just a little, keep going if you are able to drive safe. Wind is worse in a big RV in my opinion, which i know isn't worth 2 cents anymore...opinions are like noses, everyone has one...lol!

As always, MJ, Izzy and Jason, wonderful video! Glad you made it back home safely! We have an RV specific Garmin GPS in our coach which I purchased a couple years ago, the built in Rand McNally GPS that came with the coach is too unreliable. But the Garmin has its quirks too: quite a few times, directing us to turn onto "unnamed, unpaved road" where there was no road at all! Or directing us to drive past the campground that was our destination, then "make a U turn" 5 miles later! My opinion is that GPS should be considered an aid and not relied on 100%. I always want to preplan out routes using paper maps and I will typically jot down a "Cliff Notes" version on a note pad to have handy or with the navigator, my wife. What I like about GPS is that it usually gives you advanced notice of upcoming exits and turns so you can be in the correct lane and also gives you an arrival time estimation.

My Garmin GPS has told me to go straight on a road that dead ended. There had never been a road where it wanted me to drive. Generally it is reliable. I have stopped for an overnight in high winds but not for snow. I bought snow socks for the tires but haven't used it in snow, but it did work on wet grass where we wanted to spin. We use to cross-country ski and would stay in the RV.

Watching your time at the Super Show, what came through the most was "community" - RV friends and family. God bless Nellie - she sure earned her keep by doing her job exceedingly well. Thank God for little traffic, black top roads, and your safe return home to Jason. 👍🏾

Apple Maps, 38 foot Motorhome somewhere near TN took me through a residential neighborhood, at night ( one stop sign is down) into a warehouse dead end. The security force came out I explained what happened and they got me turned around. Embarrassing no fun! 🥵John

Garmin, Trimble, Google Maps, have all misdirected me in and around DC. I can't fully blame them, because there was always construction, always detours, the roads were constantly being changed. I'd swear one day a real GPS said to me "I give up, let me know if you find a highway." And then there was the night "my" exit connection was closed for construction, and Garmin actually said "Recalculating...continue on I95 south for 785 miles and make the next legal u turn." Homey don't think so...I know how to use service rounds and only lost 15 minutes. It helps if you look at the route ahead of time, PRINT the map and directions, and know where you should be--no matter what the bitch-in-the-box (sorry) tells you en route. It also helps if you update the maps and rerun the route 48 hours before the trip.

I'm old school- no GPS! I rely on Rand Mcnally, many trips up & down east coast, 95% of the time would go through the eastern shore of Maryland. Nice roads way less traffic& bypass Baltimore &DC.

`i use a combination of `; 1`) RV `life GPS on my iPhone; excellent; 2) Garmin 1095 dedicated device - fair, some errors; 3) the Tiffin Built-in 4inch GPS 2018, - few errors, needs updating ; and 4) Co-Pilot app on my 13inch iPad - very good works great with traffic and big honking buttons for when you are driving - this is the best with the most travel data; …. see you at Myaka

This year we made the decision to store the van aka 🍒 💣 off of the mountain. We had so much snow and ice last year we couldn’t use her. This year we made it to Quartzite and had a Marvelous time! Glad you made it home! We’ll probably go down to Joshua Tree in the next week and then to Anza Borrego Desert. Nice that the desert is 50 minutes away.
