I have a 2022 Tiffin RW. I love it... I am a 78 yr. old widow. My husband and I had several Class C's and a Class A since the mid 70's. I missed having one so bought my RV several years after he had passed away. You will realize the quality of the Tiffin. Have had very few minor issues with mine. Things have changed in the RV world in the quality, they all have issues, but Tiffin is a quality product. BTW, mine is the same color as yours and just love it... Hope you have many great memories in your Wayfarer and safe travels.

Congrats guys 🎉! Add to your check list lol, the very first thing upon backing up into a site, (i pre measured my sewer hose extended to the max), now when i back up i whip out the measuring tape from glove box, n do a quick measure to make sure i don't have to drag out the extension! Next add to your list quick connects for water hose. I have quick connects on external water filter, water regulator, water splitter (aka Y adapters) n hose (G hose! Light weight easy to drain when disconnecting!). I screw in water splitter directly to shore post (use a brass one) if threads go, it's easy to replace. I use a water hose saver n screw it directly to camper the rest is all quick connected together. Takes 30 seconds to hook up water lol! I love your humour n mistakes your so 'real' 👍🏼. 🍻

@SpykersB we can always count on you to make some really great observations and comments. We will definitely do a more in-depth set-up video in the future as we better learn the Wayfarer's operating systems. That's a great idea for the water quick connects. We are going to try to make that work for us. Dan says he doesn't ever make "mistakes," it just takes him twice as long to do some things because he is half fast. Thanks, as always for the post.

Congratulations on your purchase. We just purchased the Tiffin Wayfarer 2024 RLW in March it's really loving it so far. We have about 4,000 mi on it. Had one problem with the Mercedes engine light coming on telling us the fuel filter need to be cleaned. Took it to a Mercedes dealer and a wire had burned out shorting out the warning system causing the light to stay on all the time. Tiffin took care of it for us. I'm glad the Wayfarer comes with a macerator toilet so we don't have to worry about using tank treatments. One thing I found helpful is to go to the options on the dash where you can have the DEF level indicator at the bottom of the screen all the time. So far we've used 5 gallons of DEF.
@halffasttravelers27026 ай бұрын
We are glad you're liking your Wayfarer. It seems that there is always at least one thing that goes wrong with a new RV right off the lot. We were a little surprised your issue was a Mercedes problem and not a Tiffin problem. We have had great success with our Mercedes in the past. Maybe we have been lucky. We too found the setting for the DEF to be helpful as you did. We have learned that it is usually far less expensive to fill our DEF at the pump at truck stops rather than purchasing the box even at Wal Mart. Thanks for sharing your experience.
@kip55886 ай бұрын
@@halffasttravelers2702 actually it was a Tiffin problem according to Mercedes. Tiffin placed a wire in the wrong place and it wore the wires insulation off causing the Mercedes computer to display a false clean fuel filter message. Tiffin did reimburse us for cost though. The only other problem we had was water was leaking in behind the shower wall inside an interior floor on our first trip out. The dealer had to order a whole new shower faucet and shower miser.

@@SilverBullet9999 we also bought our Tiffin Wayfarer 2024 RLW from Lazy Days. They've been great helping us with no high pressure sales people. We had a few problems right away. A heads-up regarding the in-line water filter: I run water through it BEFORE hooking it to the motorhome because there is always some "charcoal debris" that needs to get out of the filter; better to put that in the grass than in your water lines.

@duffykj6 ай бұрын
I personally find connecting the water filter at the source spigot is easier and won’t strain the inlet in the coach with the angle, regardless the extension you have there… A 90 degree elbow with a shut off valve is a bonus at the inlet too, regardless the filter placement. Both circumstances will provide easier closing of the door, further reducing the strain on the inlet.
@halffasttravelers27026 ай бұрын
We got in the habit of doing this with our Patriot Class B. The door had to stay open either way so we preferred to keep the long hose out of the "clean side" of the hook-up. We haven't had an issue with the door on the Wayfarer, but we will probably take your suggestion and get a 90 degree elbow for the coach side. Thanks.

Yes, the 2D Rubicon is listed as 4,200lbs. This is right at our limit for towing, so we carry very little in the toad, and just the bare minimums in the RV. This keeps our GCWR within the limits. We always recommend that you take the setup to the scales and get the exact weight just to be sure.

We have not had any issues yet, and we have been on some very steep hills in the past few weeks as you will see in our upcoming videos. We're getting about 13 MPG towing the Jeep even with the hills. Thanks for a wonderful enlightening video. My husband and I are thinking about downsizing from our Tiffin Phaeton and I have been considering the Wayfarer and other comparable RVs. What really sold you on the Wayfarer besides the floor plan? Why did you choose to sell your American Patriot van? How long are your RV trips typically? My husband doesn’t think we could manage 1-2 month trips in something so small. I’m interested in your perspective. Do you plan on utilizing the cab over bunk for a guest or storage? We usually take a grandkid or two every year for a week. I am most appreciative of any information you can share. Thanks so much and I hope you enjoy your beautiful new RV and Jeep. Safe travels!

Thanks for the compliment. We'll try to answer all your questions, but if you check out our previous video and our "Hunt for the Perfect RV" video we go over the reasons why we chose the Wayfarer. It was mostly due to the floor plan and the need for more space than our class B. We take several short trips throughout the year, but we do take longer "road trips" which last between six and eight weeks. So far, we have found the Wayfarer to have plenty of space for us on the long trips, but only time will tell. We use the overhead bunk for storage, but will use it if our daughter and granddaughter travel with us. On that trip we will have to come up with a creative storage system. However, we still haven't filled all the space under the couch. We urge you to check out those other videos and comment with as many questions as you can come up with. Thanks for your post.

Also, you mentioned driving 65-70 mph and not feeling completely stable due to non aerodynamic. Do you have a remedy for that? Thanks and again I really appreciate your video!
@halffasttravelers27026 ай бұрын
We love the Murphy bed. The set-up and tear-down is a breeze. We do have one complaint, and that is the bed length. It seems our feet hang over the edge even after we move as far up as we can. It's really not that big a deal. It just takes some getting used to. Depending upon your height this may or may not be an issue for you. As far as the speed goes, any Class C is going to suffer handling effects on windy days or at higher speeds. This is something most drivers adapt to, and we have not felt unsafe at any time driving at highway speeds since shooting that "first impressions" video. Thanks for subscribing.

@@halffasttravelers2702 we have a 25t 2016 Winnebago View with only 23K miles. The squirrelly driving is the worst part of our trips. It seems to have gotten worse with the new tires we put on after the original ones wore out (mostly the rubber cracked from heat as opposed to tread wear). The tires were $1800 for set of 6 so not ready to put another set on due to cost, but that may be better than buying another RV because of the road handling causing us to not want long trips.
@halffasttravelers27025 ай бұрын
So sorry to hear about the handling issues, and we agree that the tires may be the cause of it all. Proper tire inflation is always extremely important, but tire type is also. Just curious if you have taken the RV to the scales to check the axle weights. If you're over your GVWR or GAWR, that could be the culprit as well. We hope you are able to get it all figured out. Thanks for posting your experience.

You look so happy. Congrats. However, how did you end up with an absorption refrigerator? Would have gotten a compression or a residential. Second, I never "hook up" to "city water." I fill the tank as I need water and put the hose away until next time. That way, I eliminate city water pushing a leak in the RV and maybe I'm not there... At least turn it off when leaving the RV. That wet bay looks awkward with all those angles required for hoses. I never leave the sewer hooked up either. When a dump is needed, I bring out the hose. All this makes for a fast getaway if needed. All I have to pull is the electric hookup. This routine came in handy as a monsoon approached the campground in Arizona one morning. I was out of there and up onto the higher-ground freeway within five minutes. Also, if an RV next to you goes up in flames (it happened to us twice so far), you must move away fast since campground parking is almost always too close to other RVs. Oh, almost forgot--Our absorption refrigerator set the coach on fire.
@halffasttravelers27026 ай бұрын
We were told when we bought the Wayfarer that we had a "two-way refrigerator" that could run off propane and electric, but we later found out that was not the case. We actually have a Norcold 12V compressor refrigerator. It's interesting that you don't use the city water, and we do that if we are only in transit for one night. Otherwise, we find it more convenient considering our water use to do the full hook-up. OMG, that is terrible about the fires and the storm. What experiences those must have been. We are glad you are OK, and still enjoying the RV life. Thanks for sharing your stories.
@terrysandiego5 ай бұрын
@@halffasttravelers2702 Hi again. If there are fins in the refrigerator, that is an absorption refrigerator. Your outside vent behind the refrigerator is the type used for an absorption refrigerator. I do use city water, I just don't leave it hooked up. If not left hooked up, you can run the hoses (even sewer) straight in and then unhook and put down when finished. The fittings inside your particularly tight wet bay will be subjected to tight bends and will fail if subjected to that stress for long periods. Just wanted you to know. Knowledge usually is good...
@halffasttravelers27025 ай бұрын
We believe the Wayfarer had an absorption refrigerator prior to this model year and that may be why the vent looks the way it does. Our fridge is a Norcold model N8DCSSR compressor refrigerator. We hear you on the fittings issue and we intend to add a 90 degree fitting to see if that works for us. If not, we’ll move the filter to the land side and grab a new hose. We do appreciate all the tips and info. Thank you.

Hi I just saw this video after watching the one where you first saw it at the show. Congrats on getting it. It’s beautiful! I’m researching smaller RVs and hoping to avoid towing. Do you think it’s possible to get around in the Tiffin without a toad. I know you got the jeep, so probably means you need a toad. I’m asking in case you did that as preference versus a must have. Thanks.
@halffasttravelers27025 ай бұрын
Thank you so much!! When we had our van we didn't have a toad, because we figured we could just pick up and go whenever we wanted to. We ended up not ever leaving the RV park, because it was a hassle to uproot everything whenever we wanted to drive to the store or explore. Unless you are going to be staying places that offer Uber or are very close to stores and other amenities, you should probably do a toad. We can't imagine doing the trip we are on now without one. The good news is, we have found towing the very small Jeep very easy as compared to hauling around a large trailer. The Jeep tracks behind the RV very well. We had not ever towed a vehicle behind an RV before, and we can honestly say, we wish we would have had a toad on last year's trip, even in the Class B. We hope this helps.

We like to keep the long hose on the "dirty" side of the filter to prevent any buildup of gook from when we store it out of the coach. It's just a matter of preference as long as there is enough space for the filter to keep it from putting stress on the RV inlet. We are still perfecting our set-up, and will probably be adding some "quick-connects" at the recommendation of some of our viewers. We can see how you would think the filter is backwards, but unless you add some really weird connections, it is impossible to connect the filter backwards. Thanks for your post.
