This looks like a great product. Leaks in RV roofs are a huge concern for all RVers and for many folks, it isn't easy to climb up on the roof to do regular inspections, anything that can help reduce that is a plus in my book! I wish RV manufacturers would either put on a roof like this as part of the standard build or offer it as an option at their factory.
@EndlessRVing3 ай бұрын
Some offer as an option but the process is much longer vs the quick factory process

so if you need to replace those solar panels, how easy will it be to remove now it is sealed in, and once you put the new panel, does the entire roof need to be sealed or just that part ?
@rvroofingpros63773 ай бұрын
To remove and replace those solar panels or any other equipment, we would cut into and around the seams/ brackets with a razor. Then expose the screws with a scrapper and remove them. Pry up the equipment. Once the new equipment is sealed and installed, we reapply our fabric, embedding it into multiple coats. The whole roof would not have to be resealed to do this.

We wanted to make sure that we never had to worry about our roof leaking, and the best part is its maintenance free. We love it! I sold a 1995 high end diesel pusher 2 years ago that had a gel coat fiberglass roof. The roof was as good the day i sold it as the day it was built in 1995. These rubber based roofs are made for todays RVs that are lucky to last 10 years.

We had our 40’ 2004 Tiffin Allegro Bus roof ceramic coated by MasterTech Rv In Elkhart Indiana. They removed every item on the roof then applied their lifetime transferable guaranteed never to leak ceramic coating. I believe the tensile strength is 3800lbs. It was pricey at $8000 and I hope the system you had installed works just as well. Thanks for ALL your great videos, keep the information coming!!

Last winter I installed a large racked solar system on the roof of my 35ft Class A MH. After I drilled 54 holes in my roof to secure the rack with toggle bolts, sealing each foot with Henry's Tropic-Cool 884 Silicone Sealant, I coated my entire roof with Henry's 887 Tropicool 100% silicone coating, encapsulating each foot to ensure there would be no water leaks in the future. My motorhome's 25 yr. old roof was not leaking to begin with, so only needed cleaning and prepping, not extensive taping or repairs. Henry offers a lifetime guarantee on their product, so I'm sure it will remain leak free for years to come. The best thing was I did the job for around $400 in materials (and a few days labor). While this RV Roofing Pro system looks like a first class professionally installed roof system, I really can't see spending over $5k on the roof of my $15k motorhome when there are lots of inexpensive, yet effective DIY options out there - especially since I'm retired and have a lot more time than money.

Same here-- Still no issues and looks great after almost a year. As you say, these professional products work great, but for a 10th of the price and some elbow grease you can get "good enough".
@marcelracine415413 күн бұрын
While some people are willing to spend the time doing what you have done, most are not. And silicone based products offer much less opportunity to do any repairs to the roof, like IF you hit an obstruction that requires roof repair. Additionally, walking on a roof coated with silicone based roof coatings is a precarious experience, as with just a little moisture, it becomes slick as a skating rink. The other input I have is that a single RV owner will likely NOT have the experience Luis has and so it becomes difficult to know how to recognize, avoid and work around issues on the RV roof that Luis has gained the experience for from YEARS of doing this type of work.

Roof is inspected prior to coating. If the membrane is not good then it would need to be replaced prior to coating.
@rvhome55993 ай бұрын
there is a company that strips everything off and sprays on this tuff coating, that will never come off and is hail proof. Not sure about the cost right now but 2 years ago it was around $10000.00. What he said last night this could easy be close to $7000 without the membrane removed, but it’s still only painted on
@rvhome55993 ай бұрын
@@EndlessRVingyes and how much does it add to the cost ?
@marcelracine415413 күн бұрын
@@rvhome5599 While the application process is similar to "painting", whether rolled or sprayed, the product is a coating not a paint and with the thickness being 24-28mils, that provides a substantial coating. It is applied much like deck coatings for commercial and residential buildings, using painting equipment but with much more robust products.

I know they got this for cheap or free for the plug but what I would worry about is this: one, when you need to replace a vent or sky light now what? Next, for $7,000 or more they don’t do the whole roof they just go under the AC as far as their brush goes?! That defeats the whole purpose there is now a weak point in the roof, both AC units… will water pool in the place of the original roof now that it’s basically a little lake under there and there is no sun to dry it up? I had a Bounder years ago that had a rubber roof and there was a company that charged I don’t know maybe near a grand and they did this same thing but with Henry’s Tropicool coating which you can get at Home Depot or Lowe’s and do it yourself… not sure if it is good for other roofs because at the time that roof was rubber… now TPO is the common roof… but I would assume it would work just the same way and it’s cheap and durable and easy to patch.

Be aware that EPDM & TPO roofing products are made liquid and allowed to cure/dry before it is installed on the RV. Some RV manufacturers are now realzing the benefits of liquid applied membranes and are doing this at their factories.
