For anyone considering jumping into RVing and not knowing what it costs, this video should be required viewing! Buying an RV is just the beginning of the costs associated with it. I was sitting here laughing when MJ talked about the amount of clothes she brings along. For our last outing, a 14-day trip to Asheville, NC, my wife seemingly brought along every pair of shoes she owns, and God know how many slacks, shorts, blouses, etc.! She could have changed twice each day and have never worn the same outfit twice! But we had the space and carrying capacity, so why not! If she's happy, I'm happy!

We just traveled with our 25 ft trailer from IL to Banff, Canada. Maybe we aren't picky. But we averaged $47 a night (US $) for full hook up sites. Five nights at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court in Banff was the same price as 1 night at a hotel in Lake Louise 5 years ago. I truly pray those East Coast camping prices don't move westward.

I agree. I’m staying away from slides. My 19’ has no slides and plan on getting an Airstream in the future. I want nothing to do with slides. 2024 and they still really haven’t figured them out.

Same. The sales people were shocked when we told them we were looking for a class a without slides.... 8 years later and we still love her. Very individual choice but we made the right choice for us.

I am trying to get prepped for boondocking. I've spent $600 so far on a new lithium battery, compatible solar charge controller, wiring, lithium battery charger, and compatible power distribution center. I thought the battery swap was all i needed... the rest i learned after i bought the battery. I've got a few hundred more in solar panels on my shopping list. Eventually I'll need 3 more batteries and an inverter. Probably $2,000 more.

Best advice is to go slow with mods seeing what is really needed as you get used to the rig.

Great information. For us, the nickel and dime at the RV parks is getting ridiculous. Just got back from WI and one park wanted $10 per pet per day on top of the nightly RV fee. We have 3 small dogs so those kind of charges are just not something we want to deal with. Lucky for us we found a much better park to stay at. FYI-there’s no way my dogs use $10 each per day worth or campground utilities 😊.

Rv costs are high for sure. But the memories, fun, and new friendships are worth the price of admission. I would love to have $3.35/gal instead of our $5.69/gal !!! 😊

Imagine living in a semi 😂 I'm exactly like her. I carry over 30 days of 11:22 clothes, make up, skincare etc. I even have a ninja coffee maker, ninja grill, ninja blender, butane stove LOL small spaces don't bother me BUT big places do 😂❤ WOAH 7 mag, I get over 7 on a bad day fully loaded in my semi! That's insane. I'm going to be buying a class c and trading it in for my jeep cherokee and I notice they get about the same mpg as the jeep. Hey thanks for the informative video! Not alot of great information out here like this ❤

I know this if a little off topic, (though all RVers need to be prepared for their appliances to fail more often than in a S&B) but I just noticed you have the same fridge we do. How do you like yours? We just purchased ours 2 days ago to replace our 25 yr. old Dometic RV fridge that died for the 4th time in 5 yrs. We suffered 2 fridge board and 2 cooling unit failures. We have sufficient solar and batteries to run it, so boondocking won't be an issue. It will save us about $1 a day in propane and the inconvenience of frequent propane refills. Our refrigerator and freezer space increased by 50% too. We're so tired of throwing away hundreds of dollars in expensive seafood every time our old fridge failed (we make a lot of exotic sushi) so we decided to make the change. We got a 5 yr. extended warranty that also covers $300 in spoilage for only $119, which seems like a no brainer to me.
