Thank you for your story. You are such a brave girl.Endometriosis is a awful disease I have diagnosed bowel endometriosis. And I am scared of operation. So it's important for me to hear expirience of other women who went trough surgery.

Thank you so much for this. I’m in the process of being diagnosed with endo and it’s so encouraging to not feel alone. You’re inspiring too because I see you live your life and not let endometriosis hold you back. I’d love to see more of these videos xoxo

If you don't mind me asking, how did you get diagnosed (i.e. blood work, ultrasound etc)? My Dr mentioned she suspected endometriosis, but the only way to tell for sure was to do a surgery...

Lina Malina I actually haven’t been diagnosed yet! I’ve had all the symptoms for years so it makes sense, but I’m having surgery next month to know for sure. I want to figure it out so it’s worth it to me to have surgery. I’m so sorry you’re going through this too!

Hey Ashley, can you please do an update on your condition after the second run of surgery? I've recently been diagnosed and has 3 endometriosis sizing up to 10cm. Your experience will be helpful!

Hi, I chanched upon our videos while researching about endometriosis. I myself was diagnosed last March with endometrioma. I did ultrasound and MRI as per my OBGYN's recommendation to confirm the diagnosis. I had bilateral endometriotic cysts on right and left ovaries, 7 and 5 cm respectively. 3 weeks ago, I did laparoscopy to remove the cysts and excise endometriosis. 1 week post op I did follow up with the OBGYN and was prescribed Visanne pills to help with the endometriosis. Like you, not all endometriosis was excised due to it being in the colon and rectum area. I am about to get my 1st period after the surgery (calendar says it's in 5 days) and I am nervous because I read it might be painful (if I do get it as I am taking pills). Here's hoping it will not be as painful (or no pain at all!) when I get my period.

Your story sounds so much like mine (I’m just older 😉)! I’m two years post op with a doctor who specializes in endo and a few other women’s diseases. My surgery took five hours! Bowel was my biggest issue as well. I’m hopeful for you to receive relief for a longer period of time. In my life my biggest relief from endo symptoms came from being pregnant or breastfeeding for 6 years (3 kids). Symptoms only returned after my youngest was about 6. I had surgery when she was 13, which I should have done sooner. I’m all for natural, but when you are in that kind of excruciating pain there is no shame in taking advantage of western medicine. Praying you have true relief. Sounds like you’ve found an amazing doctor.

Hi Jennifer, have you had any bowel complications post surgery? Or any side effects in general?

@@MilesAndHeights I’ve had no bowel complications post surgery. I’m now 5 years post surgery and I’m 44 years old. My symptoms are slowly returning and most of the pain (I believe) is endo growing on bladder and bowel.

@@jkvahsholtz Thank you Jennifer for the info. I’m meant to have a bowel endometriosis surgery as well in the next couple of months and they did say it will take 5 hours. I’m also opting to get a hysterectomy so everything is dealt with once and for all. Everything sounds so scary. I hv never been to the hospital.

Wow, i hope that this works out well for you, in my family; and experiences with women that i know is that it tends to run in families. I got lucky that i was diagnosed with endo when i was into peri-menopause. Peri menopause was very long for me, i have been told that women that have 'celt-bloodline' - experience longer time, more pain etc. I consider myself lucky that i dropped into menopause quickly and never had any 'return' spot periods or anything - - - and with that all the pain, severe bleeding and endometriosis then is gone because the tissues are starved by the drop and lack of estrogen. As such, what your doctor said about making sure that it is ALL GONE makes sense because the fibres feed off of estrogen - which means anything left is fed all the time during your entire "child bearing potential' years.

I'm so sorry your endo came back so bad. That's my biggest fear. I just got my surgery two weeks ago and the period after was sooooo terrible! Did this happen to you? I would love to know how your journey with having a baby with endo is. Is it more painful, complicated ect? Also have you considered a mirena IUD ? They gave me that after my surgery, I am the same as you, hate BC or anything not natural. Thank you for sharing your journey...xoxo an endo sister :)
