Endoscopy is performed to diagnose diseases affecting the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and large intestine in the human body. There are two types of tests, upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. Upper GI endoscopy is performed when a person experiences difficulty while having food or drinking water, heartburn, severe abdominal pain and vomiting. It only takes five minutes to conduct the test in which a tube is passed through the mouth.
Colonoscopy is performed to diagnose diseases affecting the large intestine in the human body. One can perform endoscopy through simple procedures.
