Just ordered one to replace my 2006 SL 5.2 Madone, after 47,000 km. We’ll see if it really replaces it :) I do need a more comfortable bike for long rides tough. Thanks for the nice review!

@@scotttravis86 Still love it! You can't go wrong with the Roubaix. I clean it pretty often and it still feels likes new! Had my first puncture 2 days ago and I ride quite often. Once you go electronic shifting, I can't see myself going back to mechanical. I myself prefer Di2 over eTap. I will say the only thing I like a bit better is the frame on the Tarmac. Both beautiful bikes. Cheers!

Nice review. My LBS has a non Di2 Roubaix in stock still in the box. How much heavier would you guess that is vs the Di2 equipped bike? It's a size 54. Also, any idea how heavy the DT Swiss wheels are? I could get a set of Mercury carbon wheels for $900 on Competitive Cyclist. So $4500 total for the Roubaix Comp with carbon wheels. I was looking at a Tarmac SL7 for $5,000 but non in stock anywhere.

Very clear video. I purchased a new 2020 Roubaix Comp and it is awesome! I upgraded to a Roval C38 carbon wheel set which is very nice. I have not found manual documentation on how the battery status and shifting program annunciation lights work. Can you recommend a source? Thanks. Chuck

First off I would like to say I like the videos. They give us consumers the information we want and are looking for. Second is there any way we could get a video of the Specialized Tarmac base model? I am getting older and could never complete with the younger rides. I am looking for a carbon bike but do not want to pay 5 grand for something that I really do not need. Thanks for the videos and please keep them coming.

After 20 years of not riding anything but my old Schwinn mountain bike i was lucky enough to find a Cannondale Caad 12 with 105's. From the stand point of comfort it appears upgrading to the Roubaix would be a worthwhile upgrade. I'm torn between keeping my Caad 12 and fitting it with carbon wheels or making the jump to the Roubaix. Thoughts? Btw I've only had the Caad for 2 months

Would you go with Roubaix or Scott Addict and why?
@Jamesthebikeguy4 жыл бұрын
I don't have any experience with Scott so I don't have a frame of reference to make a determination. I just know that buying a bike that fits from a quality dealer is what matters.
@markp3535 жыл бұрын
Clever marketing, frame as aero as Tarmac, except your body position would most likely be more upright making you less aero when you ride it, however you will be more comfortable.
@Jamesthebikeguy5 жыл бұрын
That and the Tarmac isn't exactly the most aero bike. Thing to remember is if you were properly fit the position would be the same on both bikes. Just a difference in thinks like stem length/angle and saddle offset

I just bought the2019 Specialized Roubaix because I couldn't afford the 2020 model. Besides the seat tube very much the same. The thing that bothers me is the 1.5 future shock. I notice the spring movement feels kind of noisy. I'm hoping that when I get the stiffer spring installed more grease can be wrapped around the spring to make it smoother. Anybody else has a problem like this.
@Jamesthebikeguy4 жыл бұрын
Have them check the lubrication and ensure you have the correct spring
@MrRobuz4 жыл бұрын
@@Jamesthebikeguy I just bought this bike so it has the black spring in it. More grease sound about right. Going to take apart and put the stiffer spring in it with lots of lubrication.

@Jamesthebikeguy5 жыл бұрын
Well I hear what you are saying. When done and installed correctly I'd argue PF is still better overall, but in Mass production and variation in quality of mechanics threaded is fool proof

Hahahahaa, i feel your pain. My old spez camber had 4 or 5 pf30 bb’s in 2,5 years.
@JamesSocialCycling5 жыл бұрын
Spent so much money on trying to sort it out it hurts. So won’t be spending anymore money on Specialized as they’ve been no help. The quality is an issue and as said, it’s not rocket science they were having issues as they went back to threaded.

There is one of this at my LBS for $4400. I ask em if I can get it for $4000. Sad They can't give it away for the price I ask for. Instead pre ordered the roubaix expert 2021. 😅
@Jamesthebikeguy3 жыл бұрын
Why would you think they would give you a 10% discount on that bike. First off bikes are hard to come by right now, 2nd off most bike shops after expenses relating to the sale of the bike take home only 6% of the retail price. You think that they want to give you $136 for taking that bike off their hands?
@WhiteRiceCycling3 жыл бұрын
@@Jamesthebikeguy well I ask for lower price since it's used! They said the first owner trade it in for the sl7 tarmac Pro after having it for a month or so. Low miles They said.
