It is clear, usefull, not too much at a time, decomposed moves, gradually technical, all that making yours amongts the best videos I have watched so far. I am at the early stage of enduro and I intend to practice a lot. Thank you. I am a happy Canadian too.

Great videos. Great camera angles really helps me understand better as a beginner. I rode from 7-20years old. Now 43 and getting back into it. Wet muddy ruts in England are my nemesis. Keep washing my front end out. A video on these would be a great help. Thanks. Johnny

Excellent video. As a 45 year old ex downhill rider who’s just starting enduro I’m ok with body position on the bike but it’s throttle and clutch control for things like this that I need to learn. I like how you’re not assuming I have some prior knowledge and breaking it down to the most basic steps. Gonna watch the rest of your vids now. 👍

excellent step by step demonstration of the pivot turn. another application for this technique is railroad tracks. sometimes you can just jump them clean, but other times there is no approach and you are forced to "get in" and "get out"...on an angle. I use this same technique every time and watch other guys struggle!

Hey there, you asked for comments, so here it goes: 1) TELL us how it is, you are the teacher! Don't bother qualifying your statements by saying stuff like "well at least that's what I like to do..." I know, we're Canadians and don't want to sound like know-it-alls, but this is your wheelhouse man, so just say "do this if you wanna rock like me!" 2) I'm a newbie so any time you can think back to those days ans add-in little tips on how to master stuff like clutch control, not fighting the weight of the bike in low speed maneuvers, etc. please elaborate. 3) Keep it up with the multiple camera angles and slo-mo on technique replays, that helps a lot. Thanks... I'm going through the whole series!

I've always enjoyed watching you ride, you've got some serious skills. There a ton of help videos out there, some good and some bad. Yours are a bit different which is nice. I like that you are as awkward behind a camera as I am :) I know how much work goes into making a watchable video and definitely appreciate the work and time you've put into this video and others. If I might humbly suggest something to possibly make the videos better you could maybe work on your narration a bit. I struggle with narrating and have to write down and rehearse what I want to say. Some times I'l do a clip several times and just pick the best one during editing. You may even try doing the narration after the ride from the comfort of you desk and add it in during editing. That way you can keep your audio at the some amazing level as your footage. Most You Tubers have the focus of a gnat so if your content seems awkward at any time or slow they'll move on. Not that you really have to worry about any of this as you've got great material and amazing skills. Keep up the great work and good luck making this your future.
@HeddleTown7 жыл бұрын
HaHa YES it can be awkward when you are searching for words but like I said in a recent video its all off the top of my head which is going to keep it genuine, new and fresh and also raw which is what I like I personally don't care for the narration from behind a keyboard with my videos it will be what you see is what you get! ;) I believe this will either be my key to success or not but it's how I will be doing all of them raw and on the fly! There may be times I forgot to mention a key part so I may have to narrate but rarely I hope to do this! Thanks for the input! :)

I'll be bashing my way across logs for the foreseeable future with "the good old fashioned way" :P I seem to have the most trouble with the rear wheel spinning on these techniques. Not sure if it's my body weight still being forward from compressing the forks, or too early on the clutch before the forks have rebounded, or something else entirely. Thanks again for the video, I hope to put some of your tips to good use!
@HeddleTown7 жыл бұрын
HaHa Thanks man ya thats the clutch control I speak about in the video yesterday just before this one! ;)
@EvilGTV7 жыл бұрын
If you mean you keep wheel spinning on the pivot turn, that is something I struggled with too for a long time. The key point is what he said about not releasing the clutch fully (something that's not explicitly mentioned in other videos) - you still hold it partly in. The other thing I find helps is slowing down, not trying to rush things. Compress forks, sit your ass right on the back edge of the seat as they start rebounding, and release the clutch half way, and you should find the front coming up no worries. As a side note, I found its actually a little easier when learning to try using them on a small log (6" diameter ish), as it's not so much of a stretch to the ground, and I don't tend to need to weight the rear of the seat to help it come up (6' tall here on a 250 EXC, and the ground still seems to far away for me on this skill).
@HeddleTown7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for all the good ideas and for picking up on the little details.. this is something I want to build this series into is the little details OTHER channels leave out that's the stuff that makes all the difference in the world! :) Thx for watching!!
@thesickhorseranch7 жыл бұрын
EvilGTVThanks man, that's actually really helpful. I see now that I have been rushing the procedure. It seems like this big exciting technique, so I psyche myself up and try to get everything to happen just right and wind up spinning with no front end lift. After watching the vid I see how slowly the forks are rebounding and realize I have plenty of time to get my weight back for traction. Also I'm 5'8" so I typically try this in a ditch so my feet are able to touch easily. Thank you both! I hope to make something happen next time.
@dannuthals70454 жыл бұрын
I was always taught to do pivot turns uphill, so that if you miss it a bit the bike doesn’t run away from you. So when on a hill, I do it that way probably 90% of the time. Do you agree with this? Your technique is great.
@HeddleTown4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Honestly the pivot turn is really to get you out of a jam like you're in an awkward position or up against a downed tree or something so it shouldn't really matter as long as it's feasible to do it doesn't matter where you are! In my opinion! 😊

My main issue is once the bike is up to keep my right calf close to the frame so I can cover the rear brake. Some times works, others not. My guess is that has to do with my body position on the bike. Any tips would be appreciated
