Ignoring comments regarding the distance the chronograph is what's more important. You should set yourself up with the chronograph 6 to 10 ft away. Using a lightweight pellet would be around 30 ft lbs and the heavier would be closer to 45 ft lbs. Then move the chronograph out to 30 yards. Repeat the test to know the ballistic coefficient.

Excellent point. The heavier pellet should maintain momentum further, BC being equal.

this is not goot test because you dont hunt point blank -30cm far from target.can you do hunting distance test?

shouldnt you have been doing the shots of at least 20 yards? thats the avergae shot distance on a squirrel

There's a theory that on rifle bullets it mostly depends on speed and meplat (head shape). Maybe it's related to soft body (ballistic gel) expansion. You should try a flatter/sharper head pellet. Terminal ballistics are hard.

Ты сделал интересный эксперимент, но выводы неправильные. Сравнивать надо лёгкую пулю с мощным выстрелом и тяжёлую пулю с слабым выстрелом. И мы увидим, что лёгкая пуля с большой скоростью прониклась дальше, чем тяжёлая пуля с маленькой скоростью
