You earned a subscribe, i was curious whether to get the fx hybrid slugs or hades, but the hybrid slugs are far more expensive. Decided on the hades. When i first saw the picture on the tin it looked like it was one of those pointed hollow point hybrid pellets like terminators or destroyers but suprised to see they have 3 seperate cavities. Even more impressive the expansion looks exactly like a radiation symbol. Great content, wasn't dragged out, straight to the point and covered the results I've been looking for.

Great video... I've got many tins of all the pellets you tried. I am always amazed at the performance and accuracy of the Hades. They expand as effectively as POLYMAGs but have superior penetration and cost less. The Hades also group out to 80 yards, whereas my POLYMAGs don't group well beyond 60 yards.

What I did was set the pin in my swager for a deep hole, I then measured the depth of my magazine and set the swager to that depth so the slug was snug in the mag, The deep hollow point removed lead so I could keep the weight of the slug to 26 grain yet it has the length of a 32 grain. The work wonderful.

Great video bud. Great results. I believe the knock out and h and n woukdve bloomed out more if they wouldve been shot above 950fps. Those slugs like speed, unlike the pellets which do best between 800 and 900 fps.. thanks for the good video with usefull info

Great video showing expansion of each projectile. I have an origin.22 with a budget IR scope for rat and gopher deleting. The barracuda hunter extreme gives me the best combination of accuracy and lethality. I use the h&n slug hp for the ground squirrels and raccoons because they get through their thicker coats better and the kill is more humane. Just got the fx hybrids to try and they’re not as accurate but I think it’s because of the lead burs around the hollow point. Going to run another mag through with ones I cleaned up because that expansion is insane.

If you havent you should tryout some hollow point slugs made from a swage, they tend to have way less weight differences compared to ones out of a tin. Sure the swage costs a fair bit but if you do a lot of shooting it eventually pays for itself as you can make about 400 pellets with about 1kg of lead which is worth aprox £1

I've shot over 15 types of pellets so far, and I love Hades over all others. If only those were cheaper...
@thesylvanshadow42233 жыл бұрын
I agree the Hades are excellent hunting pellets, and many rifles seem to shoot them well. They’re light enough for minimal drop out to 50 yards, they expand, and my AT-44 long shoots them at 1 inch at 50. In short, the perfect squirrel and bird pellet.
@safakaswedishairgunforum-n1490 Жыл бұрын
would say that the hades is priced about the same as the jsb domed 18,13 grains quality pellets ( it is basically the 18,13 grainer with the cut out reducing it to 15,89 gr) would not say that is expensive for a precision pellet. cheaper expanding stuff like crossmans dont have the accuracy even if they expand. we still need to hit the target to get expansion, right?.guess we get what we pay for, no free lunches in this world 👍😁🔫🇸🇪
@TheKontraktor007 Жыл бұрын
Have you ever tried the H&N Terminators, Crosman Destroyers and Apolo Arrow pellets? Cuz they're all the same type of pellet, except they have different varying weights for the pellet. And they all have good expansion

Also perfect for mice and rats. The Hades pellets would and has absolutely destroyed mice and rats. Since I've seen a KZbin video of what they can do to them. Possibly would also be great against rabbits as well
@retepeyahaled2961 Жыл бұрын
Hi, nice video. How would the standard diabolo pellet look like in this test? And maybe you would be interested in testing the H&N Hornet pellet. It is a lead pellet with a copper point. I would expect that the lead body and the copper point get separated when entering a target - the lead body might be expanding and stopping quickly, while the copper point might be penetrating much deeper. So when you hit flesh, it would become a real mess.

Ever since I started shooting at my new permission, slugs are just king if they shout well in your rifle. I have an FX Crown and luckily it shoots the HN 23gr very well out to 100 and the BC is so high it bucks the wind so much better. 18g JSB are accurate and hades are nasty but the slugs bc are just more effective bc they are easier for me to shoot over 50y accurately

Hi , great video. What is the energy of your rifle in foot pounds please ? In the UK we are limited to sub 12 and mine is doing 11.9 . I'm guessing I wouldn't get that expansion with the lower energy ? All the best 👍
@thesylvanshadow42233 жыл бұрын
Thanks glad you liked the video. My rifle is set to around 32 foot pounds. Toward the end of the video I show the energy for each of the pellets in the top right hand side. You’re right you wouldn’t get the level of expansion that I showed with only 12 foot pounds. I think the FX slugs might still expand though. Thanks for watching.

Generally, slugs are more accurate at higher velocity (but not too far into the transonic region) and woukd also get better expansion at those higher velocity... However, at long ranges where the slug has slowed down, they woukd be about what you shot there so its still a valid ballistic test

very good video. However I suggest you do additional testing & evaluation on your slugs. First weigh the slug before and after shooting. Second compare the FPE of each lastly measure the diameter or expansion ratio. A more closely shot gel would also allow calcualtion of penetration. You might find the Hades diablo at 15 .xx grains at a faster velocity than the FX Hybrid 22 grain may pass more energy into the wound canal resulting in a faster kill. In any event GREAT VID!!

First off, it's 12/25, so Merry X-Mas! 🎄🎅🏻 EXCELLENT job with these comparisons/tests, and it was definitely very informative! In my collection, I have a Hatsan Gladius .22/Long [witch is similar to your AT-44] Mine shot super-hot outa' the box, and was eventually 'de-tuned' for best [excellent] results! Anyways, I always test-fire my rifles using Crosman Premier Hollow Points, followed by JSB Diabolos, then H&Ns - and NOW also Hades.. I've used every pellet/slug you tested with here - minus the Knock Outs [They're next] Shooting - Precision Target / Not hunting Indoor range - So for me, Big Expansion is Everything - to help w/ slowing the projectiles.. Anyways.. The Hades are as accurate and consistent as the Match/WadCutters I used to use! Amazing to shoot and they stop short of 'accidentally continuing through my backstop[s] :D The H&N Baracuda Hunter Extremes are a runner up, and I can pretty much say the same. HADES - the nose is cut like the 'Ionizing Radiation' symbol.. They should have used the 'Biohazard' symbol, as those things Are a threat to biological life! haha The FX Hybrids - While they shoot well, etc.. I'm holding off on any thoughts until the Knock Outs arrive.. Those 2 seems like two of the best to compare head to head. - For their niche purpose.. Hey, again.. Excellent job, and.. Thanks for sharing! 🤘 Sam -

@DirtyDovi & @thesylvanshadow4223 Thank you both, I loved reading your conversation gentleman. It’s refreshing and uplifting to see people, especially on the internet, who just seem like good people, who actually care about treating others with respect & kindness. If just that was more common it would be a better world. @thesylvanshadow4223 if you hadn’t already earned it with the great video, then seeing this conversation would have made me subscribe. You gentlemen are a perfect example of why my experience is that the shooting community has the best people of any sport. Older more experienced shooters always seemed eager and happy to help me learn more. Even going so far as to slowdown the skeet shooting just to throw a clay to show me where to position myself for the shot, how much to lead the clay, and how to wind back toward the high or low house so I could pick it up and track it until I was in the position to shoot with my body in the proper position. Most of us love to share our passion with others by teaching them in a safe environment, where we can make sure they are comfortable and confident, so they can be safe and have fun with shooting. I have been lucky enough to introduce several people who didn’t like guns before, but they trusted me to take them shooting for the first time, and they all went from not knowing, therefore not liking guns, to loving them. Amazing how a little knowledge & seeing that gun owners are normal peaceful people, (for the most part), and hope to never have need to use a gun in self defense against anyone. They seem to realize they would rather those of us with guns who would defend others from criminals who don’t care about the laws, than seeing only the criminals being armed. I always thought that’s the best way to change someone’s mind about guns. Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know I respect you showing each other kindness & respect. I hope you’re both having a wonderful day today, and my best wishes to you and your families. ✌️🇺🇸 P.S. Wishing you the best of luck with your channel. Thanks again.
