This. This is what clubbing was and still should be. The fucking music. The fucking vibe. The style. The care free attitude. Not a single selfie or mobile phone in sight. Just you, your mates, the atmosphere and fucking epic tunes. Glad I had the chance to experience this.

Lucas! If you ever read this (3 yrs since your post): if you believe this spirit is dead - it will be. If you Believe that what was once possible, can happen again - THEN, and ONLY THEN it just might! Let me tell you of young Me, it is 1990 again for a minute, ok? I discovered my love for music at an early age already, and the first records and songs I fell in love with were those from my parents' record collection - all 60s stuff, emanating a strange air of self-conficence and authority. I can still feel the sadness and frustration that gripped me when I learned about the 60s-subcultures (Beatniks, Woodstock, Hippies, young people letting their hair grow to signal "We will not be clones of our conservative parents. We have a DIFFERENT IDEA of what life and living together can be!"... Maybe one of the greatest sources of optimism, looking at a world facing severe challenges - it's the fact, that there will always be a new generation of young people: While I and my generation are slowly growing old and "settled" in our ways... I know from my own experience, that (maybe in this very moment!) somewhere a bunch of youngsters is coming up with THEIR OWN, NEW IDEAS of "world", "living together", "ways to treat each other & the planet". And I trust that they will create a new dynamic momentum when time has come. 100%. Very honestly, and letting you take quite a deep look inside me: THIS belief is what keeps me going when another Israel/Palestine, Ukraine, Syria, Trump or Putin happens: Somewhere, someone will create new, functional ways to proceed: YOUTH OF THE WORLD, UNITE!🫵☮☺

Funny, innit? Makes me feel grateful time and again, and feeling connected to you Vinnze, Craig, and aniabania - even after all these years! To have been part of a youth-movement without "leaders" or hierarchy, fuelled by a spirit of DIY, and being united in the pride of creating OUR VERY OWN thing - and MAKING IT WORK(!!!) by being respectful & friendly to each other... Gosh, the older I get, the more I feel how deeply this time, the experience of being family, taking care of each other, having deep talks, with folks I hadn't even known a few hours ago, etched itself into my personality, thus influencing who I am today: WE made US, and yes, I am very proud of this fact!😉✌

Dead by Dawn then you should listen to the original song it was sampled from or the first group to cover the song: The original: “Let Me Down Easy” (1976) by Rare Pleasure which was released as a single on Cheri Records. The cover (which I like more because it’s a bit longer and I like Rochelle Fleming’s vocals): “Let Me Down Easy” (1979) by First Choice off of their “Hold Your Horses” album produced by Salsoul Records. This is okay...I wouldn’t say a masterpiece because it’s a sample from a song that has more lyrical meaning than this, but I’ll admit, I would have danced my ass off in Ibiza upon hearing it!

@@fallyas Awight. Feel ya & remember parties myself that just went on for days on end - me having to ASK for the actual day of the week... and feeling like a king deciding to just not care! Somehow, we almost knew THIS FEELING of BELONGING ("we are family" was all BUT a hollow phrase then) was ESSENCE - creating a moment in time & space that was larger than life! And guess what? WE PRODUCED IT. ON OUR OWN, far BEYOND anything materialistic, or (even worse) "well-organised bling of fake-importance". Nowadays unfortunately, I get this uneasy feeling quite often... like under pressure to "show off" something..., like having to prove something (MOBILE FILMING, anyone?) to... yeah, to WHOM AT ALL?! idk. Someone had spotted a place. Someone had a generator, a few lights. Some other guys brought their sound-system. Jeez, memories are coming back, of my clique and me in our kitchen, baking "powerballs" ('lil cookies/pralines from bio-organic-vegan ingredients only, with fructose and Guarana thrown in for good measure). Lolz, we must have made thousands of these things, staring selling them at the rave on Friday (for a few cents each) - and latest by Sat.-noon, gifting them to anyone in need of an energy-burst. Oh, and we DID make use of our mobile phones A LOT - after all, how else should we have known WHERE the rave would take place? One time, we had our sound system, including DJs placed in the back of a small truck - when the cops showed up, we had a a fun car-chase - taking All Pride Office World in keeping the music running (they didn't catch us, YESS! Heck, even when they came to bust our raves, I do not remember one incident with them being unfriendly or rough - that started later, when the drugs had become more important to some people than the party itself...). Fun Fact: At that time, when rave-culture started to gain momentum, I had just started to play guitar in bands - and felt less then nothing attractive in these machinelike, monotonous beats... until 11 October 1991, when a few friends dragged a quite drunk, and not less grumpy Me to my 1st rave. Next thing I remember: Saturday morning, the Sun rising over an abandoned industrial estate... A girl I didn't even know came up to me and asked whether I was okay? I must have given her a quick look, because she told me I was crying. I turned to her that I had just realised I I had found the people, the spirit, and the freedom I head been searching for - for years. Well... turns out she liked my remark enough to give me a hug and kiss me☺ We spent the rest of the weekend together. and I'll have to come to an end now, because that friendly, Beautiful ravegirl is calling me to bed. You know, there are things you'd rather just not argue about with your wife...✌☮🏴☠

@@rambo666g its known to be different compared to back then. You'll have to trust me it was a completely different time.. kids were more violent, did more drugs, the youth today have there heads more screwed on compared to the youth back then. Like where i live is in a nice area in the UK, but it had a real bad heroin problem back then. I knew a lot of guys from my school that got hooked, some still have problems to this day, some ended up on the street. Then the party scene was different even locally, we had clubs where it would be known as an ecstasy club, the girls would be dressed like podium dancers and guys would have no tops on, people just sweating, dancing and gurning away! Nothing like that exist here now, just posh bars and crap clubs. It was a different culture back then,it stemmed from the rave scene i think of the late 80's early 90's.. the whole dance scene was a lot bigger back then and the drugs and the music went hand in hand. Ibiza was a different animal back then to. Ive been in recent yrs its not the same.
