HEY GUYS THANKS FOR ALL THE INTEREST AND SUPPORT! I BECAME CURIOUS MYSELF AND SEARCHED FOR EXPLANATIONS OF THE M/V, AND WHAT I'VE FOUND IS THAT THE 'DEMIAN' PARALLEL THEORY IS THE MOST ACCURATE! THE COMMENTS MADE IN THE VIDEO WERE JUST RANDOM THOUGHTS THAT CAME UP IN MY HEAD SO IT'S NOT WORTH SOMETHING TO BE CALLED A THEORY :D. ALTHOUGH, THE STATUES AND FIGURES THAT REPRESENT MARIA AND JESUS DO HAVE A RELATION WITH DEMIAN, BECAUSE DEMIAN IS A STORY (AND A PERSON) WHICH REFUSES CHRISTIANITY OR GOD. ANYWAY DEMIAN COMES FROM THE GERMAN WORD 'Dämon' WHICH MEANS 'DEMON' AND I GUESS THAT'S WHY THIS M/V'S THEME IS LITERALLY 'BOY MEETS EVIL'. + IN DEMIAN THERE ARE LINES THAT SUPPORT CAIN, WHO IS A SINNER, OVER ABEL + LINES THAT SUPPORT A CRIMINAL WHO MOCKS JESUS WHEN HE GETS CRUCIFIED. ANYWAY I'M GOING TO READ DEMIAN AGAIN! THANKS TO BTS.. GETTING SMARTER!

Two things I noticed in the Video/ found out about the Video: The Painting that Jin looks at in the beginning is called ,,The Fall of the Rebel Angels" At 5:45 there is a quote on the wall in german it says: ,,You have to have some chaos in you to bear a dancing star" Maybe this could mean something too.

i can only say to keep voting for SHINee since they are going to be going into the military soon, BTS still has more years then them. Saying this as an ARMY hurts but you have to support your bias group. SHINee was the group that introduced me into kpop with ring ding dong, to lucifer, to everybody and so on. They'll forever be up at the top of my bias groups, but I'm afraid BTS has the very top.
@hajarmdn48837 жыл бұрын
Wolf Up Time Yeah true, I'll die when they start going to the military, hopefully we still got a year or two before that. Unfortunately with SHINee being away for so long, some people started forgetting about them. I get sad when some new kpop fans don't know them or put them down because they don't know them or how popular they are. They are one of the most stable and consistent groups in kpop and I love them. and their new album sold really well and they constantly jumping up and down in the charts. I did vote for them though :p their comeback is my second favorite one this month after Ailee's Home. also the whole SHINeeXbts interactions are giving me life. Taemin dancing and singing Jimin part and Minho tackling V and Jimin almost made me cry.

Great reaction guys! David is right about some of the art having biblical references, but that is primarily because they are from the Renaissance period. A major theme of Renaissance art is the relationship between humans and God. Another theme focused on the struggle between good and evil, between heaven and hell. In the BTS MV, a lot of the paintings reference the fall of angels from heaven and the battle between good and evil, which fits with the theme of the new album. Their previous albums focused on the struggles of growing up/youth and the new album takes the story line on its next step looking at the struggle with temptation/evil as you move from childhood/youth into adulthood (various temptations are depicted in the MV - alcohol, drugs, greed, sex etc). Children and youth are often depicted as angels/angelic and as you enter adulthood you supposedly leave your innocence behind, so the fallen angels in the MV can be viewed as representing the fall of innocence and the struggle with adult temptations (hence: boy meets evil). There is also a Friedrich Nietzche quote above the mirror at the end which Jin looks in to. It says: ONE MUST STILL HAVE CHAOS IN ONESELF TO BE ABLE TO GIVE TO A DANCING STAR". For Nietzsche, chaos referred to individual creativity and freedom, which needs to be embraced in order to gain self-knowledge. Nietzche argued that without self-knowledge you will never be able make your own unique contribution to the world (ie. become a "dancing star"). Throughout the videos in the story arc, Jin has represented "youth" -so when he kisses the statue of the angel, in my opinion, he is embracing the "chaos" (ie. the good and bad) within himself. By embracing this, he (youth) can discover who he (they) really are and become a "dancing star" who can make their own unique contribution to the world.

I am 7 years late to this comment but wow, thank you for the Nietzsche quote! It adds a different dimension other than Boy giving in to temptation. Also relates to the Map of the Soul 7 arc where the members face their Shadow persona and learn to make peace with it to become more whole as individuals.

The painting in the beginning was a battle between angels and demons. This video has a lot to do with temptation. Idk how to explain this but, in Demian the book. Saintclair the protagonist, saw his house as the light, the good manners, values, etc, the good side. And all outside it, was the dark side, dangerous, mysterious etc. Blood Sweat and Tears is all about growing up and becoming an adult, that's leaving your house, that's coming out of your comfort zone, the light aide to get into the outside world, the darker side. In this new site you'll find so many things that makes you question your values/ temptations. That's Tae/V , the temptation. And Jin is the guy growing up, facing the new world. This is the simpler way I could explain it. Good reactions guys

The painting is The Fall of the Rebel Angels that Jin is staring at. Suga is trying to protect Jimin from The Temptation (neon sign behind them) by covering his eyes, but we see Jimin holding 'the apple of knowledge' (better known as The Temptation of Eve) and Suga the blindfold which could symbolize ignorance/intolerance because BTS is all about equality. J-Hope is spreading the knowledge he got from V (after recovering from his Snicker's moment), while Rapmon and Kookie are trying to either repress or unlock memories or ideas (Absinthe and Opium are used for these purposes). Jin gave in to temptation and "sinned", thus his "pure" image is destroyed. V fell during the Run video when he "drowned" and was "reborn into darkness"...fallen angels need no wings. But knowing how Big Hit and BTS is I'm probably drifting down Lost River (Fire MV).

I'm sure somebody else has already said it but the video and all the teasers are about the book Demian... and Jin is Abraxax and the other boys are sides of his personality and he has to get rid of them to "awaken". But the Jesus Stuff makes sense too. But yeah all the English bits Rapmon keeps reading, they're from Demian. Anyways, I'm glad you boys were as excited about this as us fangirls!! It really is a beautiful video, and a great song, and BTS can do no wrong!! (And yay, you like Rapmon! ❤️)

The idea for the video was apparently the Book Demian, which RapMon was reading from in that interlude part "He too was a tempter, he too was a link to the second. The evil world with which I no longer wanted to have anything to do." (RapMon read it 'cuz his English is best of the group.) His voice is also one I could listen to reading all day long n.n

Why do people have to compare and contrast the amount of time ppl are on screen or singing? You realize that bts is EXTREMELY involved in creating their music and giving out the parts? If they are in the creation of the music and their videos go based on the music...which is exactly what they do in all their videos... stop complaining about your bias and their screen time. It’s disrespecting the product they create, record and bring to life for us and how proud they are. You’re complaining about things they’re creating and think that’s somehow defending your bias? That’s you being selfish about what YOU want.... open your eyes and realize that this is what THEY wanted and remember that they have way more control over their content than other kpop idols do and respect the art they create and the parts they choose for each other to perform. Not everybody can handle the same amount of parts in live performances and if you’ve seen anything about them and listened to them talk about the other members... then you should know how they feel about each member and remember that they’re not selfish when it comes to their content... they choose who they think will fit the parts the best... and they’re proud of the content they create... and us complaining about our biases not getting more lines or screen time is extremely disrespectful to the art that they’re creating and gifting our world ✌️ respect them and their creations

the Da Vinci code of kPop - daaamnn yes. once in a (short) while, I'll come back to their Wings album and the whooollee concept and theories and how it links to Künstlerroman, and Demian and omg. Out of all BTS albums (to date). Wings is still my favourite concept album hands down. It is out of this world and such an engaging, intriguing, multi layers, multi aspect, complicated and a package that you can keep on unravelling.
@rp.reikihealing7 жыл бұрын
thank you so much for picking up on those small details. it's so hard to spot them because there's so much going on in their videos. And the theory you came up with seems very accurate. Also one of the main themes from the book Demian is duality....or that opposing forces, ie. good and evil, are both necessary in the world(wikipedia) and i think that fits into this story somehow.

I am Christian and I believe that the opinión of David was very interesting in this respect, I also agree with several similarities. Good Job guys!!! I love their reactions.I don't know if it's well written, Because I'm Mexican and my English is weak.

Omg this was THE BEST times for everyone. I was a Big Once and idk this era was just so iconic for the TOP Groups at the time (Blackpink,EXO,BTS,TWICE) I would do anything to go back to 2016
