As someone who likes to cook as well as weave, I would find it easiest to join dough strips in as I weave, just like I would were I working with leaf strips. Once you have finished a larger sheet of woven dough, you could then cut out discs close together for minimum waste. Like a honeycomb pattern, the densest packing possible for circles is a six-around-one configuration. Any remaining dough could be then used to touch up the uncovered bottom that is dipped in sesame seeds in the video. Scraps could also be rolled into slender fingers and shaped like bamboo complete with nodes and leaves if desired. They could be used for decoration or like bread sticks. With a little trial and error you would work out the different cooking time needed for whatever size pieces you made.

@@susilim6611 Plain flour with a leavening or raising agent added such as baking powder. This is a common alternative to using yeast, another being carbonated beverages like those used for soda bread or lemonade scones. Breads that don't use a raising agent can be described as unleavened.
