💬Plot summary:

Wow...I don't know how to explain my thoughts for this show...like there's so many characters that we once disliked such as Zhuang Mohan, Xiao En, Guo Baokun, Chen Jushu, and many more...but at the end, we all cried when they died and felt and for them (Guo Baokun didn't die). Like Zhuang Mohan, he was a good person but did the bad for his little brother. Definitely felt sad for him when he died. And Xiao En, man...hated him for breaking Chen Pingping's legs and hated him for his attitude when he first left the Overwatch Council...but cried when he died. Guo Baokun, hated him at first too, but when that scene came up with his father leaving...I couldn't control my tears. Hated Chen Jushu as well for killing Teng Zijin (Who at first I disliked too but came to love him at the end), but when he died and said those words, I felt sad too. This show has many bad people but at the end it reminds us that those bad people were once good, once had a clean soul, and once had a clean mind. Many things affect them as they grow up and shape them into the people we see today. Yet, when they died they still had regrets and we have soft spots too. What really broke me was that they each could've been good. If only someone cared more for Chen Jushu, if only someone was nice to them for once, perhaps they wouldn't turn out like this. But once again, there are some we can't forget such as the Elder Princess and many other evil people in this show. But I really like this show because it didn't teach us to hate everyone just because we saw them do something that seemed evil in our eyes. We don't know what they've been through. This cdrama didn't portray everyone as evil and ruthless but it showed that despite the evil side that some might have, they have a heart and have a soft spot too. They know what it's like to love and feel loved but since they don't have it and long for it, they start to turn evil because there's no one they really care for. This show really supported that and made it so real. Obviously, some we can't forgive such as the Elder princess. Those are my thoughts for this show...really loving it!

Never in my life (since I started watching C Drama) have I seen/heard modern genre music being played and characters (dressed in historical period clothes) dancing to it! When Lord Fan and DuoDuo were “dueling it out”, that was one of the BEST scenes in this entire drama! I love Saintess too! But people hate on Wan’er so much. Lol. I ship Wan’er with Fan Xian way more. Wan’er’s like a safe place for him. A home. He can be himself with her. There’s no plotting when he’s near her. No trust issues. No politics. Just pure love. When the world gets too heavy, she’s his sanctuary. Yes, she’s very fragile & dainty compared to strong Saintess & cunning Si Lili. However with Saintess, he’s always gotta be on his toes. No rest. With Lili, there’s too much trust issues there. No loyalty. And in a world that’s constantly loud, sometimes you want quietness & calmness. And I think that’s what he finds in Wan’er, she keeps him grounded.

He is a young man and DD is fascinating hate it or love it. Also I can feel his feelings towards SiLili has changed a lil bit by the episodes. DuoDuo is strong without losing feminity and she reminds him of someone (more precisely his mom). The issue here as well is LQ does not really shines as Wan'er.

Isolated, under heavy watch, controlled and made to feel less than with a bastard child identity. The Grand Princess is NOT her biological mother as she's been made to believe. Therefore, if she's not an active participant in the grand scheme, she's quite a pitiful character. Everything else you've written, IMO, you nailed it.
