Finally got around to watching this. If you are reading this and haven't watched it before, it's well worth it. It might seem to move slowly but if it didn't, you wouldn't care as much for the characters and it wouldn't hit you in the feels as much... It does have a happy ending (if you can call it that). It's more of a satisfying end to book 1 such that if book 2 never comes out, you aren't left on a total cliff hanger!

I watched this already and watching it again to share some thoughts that hopefully will appeal to a number viewers looking for a story, not about romantic love. It is about a family's endeavor to maintain the peace that has been achieved by their father by fighting during the chaotic time. Each member of the family shares that vision but trying to approach the situations of dissent by different means. Maintaining the peace, unity and progress is prevalent in everyone's mind. They are all very good strategists, but the father and the heir do not share the same vision on how to maintain the hard won peace in the region. This is where you will enjoy following their every move, every strategy and their use of the hidden talents in their "arsenal". The sideline love story is pure.

Good news - Just saw that Joy of Life S2 will be coming out this year - 2023. And there is supposed to be 3rd season. It does not look like Li Qin will be in the 2nd season. She was the Female Lead (actress Li Qin) in Joy of Life S1. I have avoided that show (JoLS1) as I did not like her in Song of Glory (which was awful) and I chugged thru that drama because the Male Lead was so bright - but by the middle everything turned tragic. Zhang Ruo Yun is quite charming so I may grit my teeth and watch Joy of Life 1.

Un gran drama (como es de hábito con este actor principal, que es muy selectivo para elegir tramas inteligentes) con un final de temporada ¡¡¡ E-L-E-C-T-R-I-Z-A-N-T-E !!!!. Grandes actuaciones, personajes entrañables y una muy compleja intriga. Desgraciadamente, hacia el 7mo capítulo tuve que migrar de plataforma, porque se había interrumpido la traducción al español y, en inglés, se me dificultaba seguir los magníficos y detallados diálogos. Espero puedan adelantar esa traducción, asi la disfruto en v/canal, nuevamente. Porque vale la pena ver 2 veces esta serie. Gracias por el esfuerzo de subir y traducir un material tan excelente.

Longxiang was born to be Jinggang phase. His mother Princess Wusu were attacked in the capital city of TaiAn, when having pragnency for him, and Handiaoshi was one of the attackers. Wusu forcefully upgraded herself to Earth Devine phase and survived the brawl. However, She was wounded seriously and passed away shortly after giving birth to longxiang. Wusu didn't tell her husband Xu Xiao, because she worried that if Beiliang launched a huge revenge campeign against the central government Liyang, lots of his soilders would die as consequence. Longxiang was somehow delayed in developing his Intelligence. He later reached Jinggang pgase, and died in the famous battle called 拒北城之战(Battle in the city of resisting invasion from the north). During the war, both Beiliang and its adversary from the north, 北莽Beimang, deployed dozens of super powerful martial arts masters, many of them possessed Jinggang (Kongkim), Zhixuan (literally meaning magic fingers), Tianxiang (lightening sky) and earthy devine phase. That battle was very vrty brutal, most of those masters died. Less than half survived, some upgraded their phase: both Chenzhibao and Xufengnian reached Devine phase later. Chenzhibao was one of the six foster sons of Wusu/Xuxiao, five of them backed Xulongxiang as the future successor except the fat man Zhulusan. Zhibao means appreciate the great help and endeavour to pay the debt of gratutide. Chenzhibao owed heavy debt of gratitude to Wusu, whom was regarded as real mother and the target of unconditional loyalty. Later in the original novel, Chen left Beiliang with his troop-he wanted to leave space of power for Xufengnian because Chen was in effect recognised as the top general after Xuxian died from illness. Chen doesn't want his influence to shadow Fengnian, the owner of Beiliang. At the beginning of this season, Xu was having his three years of "hardship experiencing trip" organised by his father. As the preferred successor, Fengnian learned, unstood and grew tremendously during those years. Playboy on the face, Fengnian avoided attention (and hostility, potential attacks/dangers) from his adversaries, by strategically giving himself a bad name. Laohuang, not just Fengnian's travel mate, but also a top class sword master and his body guard, also owed Xuxiao lots of gratitude debt, accepted this mission of protecting Fengnian during the trip as a method of repayment. Laohuang (Jianjiuhuang, grand mine sword master Huang) once challenged Wangxianzhi but lost, he had always looked forward to try his 2nd chance. After his job done, Laohuang left Fengnian and met Wanfxianzhi again in Baidi city. This time Laohuang won respect from Wangxianzhi with his master skills on his nine swords, however he ran out of all his energy and died of exhausion, his endless purse for top sword art, finally ended.

No, now it's it's all special effects with explosives, tornadoes ect which gets repetitive and boring. They used to actually fight in the vintage versions and showed amazing skills and had cool dialogues too.
