@@lavinder11 Not really, Lenovo (here in Canada at least) have great thin-and-lights with 12-ish hour battery life at around $850 USD including tax. The Yoga 6 (13" AMD) has a Ryzen 7 7730U which is pretty dang good for a 13" thin-and-light and comes with 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM at that price. Aand it has a backlit keyboard. The Surface Laptop Go 3 looks like a joke tbh compared to the competition.

@tempaccount7024 I'm using a Yogabook C930 right now. It's been my favorite computer because of light and compact it is, but with the limited warranty (1 year), terrible battery life and constant reboots, it wasn't worth the 1K I spent on it. The new YB is beautiful, but it's starting price is $2100 or something like that and users are facing issues with automatic zooming. Lenovo is an interesting brand, but their quality control is spotty and the prices reflect that when you use them.

I could consider getting this laptop, because the last gen XPS 13 base model is 1.8k in my country, and this goes for 1.6-1.7 k, but I'm also thinking about getting the M1 Macbook Air (256GB SSD) since its also around 1.7k and I basically have the whole ecosystem, except for a macbook.

I own the surface laptop go 2 which I bought last year, still work perfectly. I wouldn’t consider the new go 3 as the improvements are minimal compared to last years model.

I got the 8/256 from MS store today for 719 as a "student discount" followed by an additional 10% off by the rep post delivery. It is at a palatable price now for a unit that is perfectly sized to be a field laptop/tethered while home.

The price you get for refurbished and used electronics makes these new ones look very expensive. I bought a refurbished surface laptop 3 for my wife for $300 and it looks and works like a new one. I will look on the refurbished and used side before buying new unless it's a very good deal like some of Samsung trade in deals.

Ill take this over an ipad ANY DAY. As we all know by now, an ipad with the best keyboard weights a ton and gets super expensive. Sure, better speakers and nicer screen, but ipados gest super annoying to use for anything than just watching one screen or scrolling through an app. A laptop is a much better option for 90% of uses. I always ask myself, if im going to travel, do i want to take my cellphone and an ipad or my cellphone and a laptop. Taking your cellphone and an ipad is essentially taking two of the same device.

Frankly Microsoft didn't need to scale down just to make the laptop more affordable and appealing they could have uniquely engineered a SD card reader in there or a secondary usb type c added, Microsoft can build a tower gaming system but leaves one type a and one type c, just because of the compatibility and a 1080p screen? Come on. Apple does this too.

Personally, I think the small design is one of its most appealing aspects. Though, I have never understood why they couldn't include even a micro SD card slot. Even the Surface Go tablets have those, and they're even smaller.

“All day battery life” and “up to 15hrs” pure bs. The SLG1 was rated for up to 13hrs but in my experience the battery just drains so quickly even just web browsing and watching videos you have to charge the laptop after 3 hours of use smh

I got the 8/256GB to replace my 1st gen Surface Laptop which has a 7th gen Intel processor and won’t upgrade to Windows 11. The Go 3 is great for The Sims 4!
