THE RIGTH BREAK IN first tank= zero throttle ,motor RPMs must be 2000-4000 (wheels don't move) second tank= the same third tank=the car must move very very slow 4th=a little faster 5th=almost half throttle 6th=half throttle 7th=screw the high speed screw and you can run on full throttle Ready THE FAST BREAK IN first tank=zero throttle motor RPMs must be 2000-4000 second tank=a little throttle third tank=half throttle Ready IN both ways the engine should be rich (lot's of smoke)

make sure you check the screws that hold the head in as well mine came from the factory with only one screw tightened by the time I found out what was wrong with it it was too late the damage was already done runs good but over heats as I never got a good break-in so the piston never set right with that said I got a 2nd one from them and checked everything and it broke in great

Is this the same procedure for like the shockwave cause the shockwave is a bit different to this hurricane, also u don't want to wait till the buggy runs out of fuel? U want to just leave a bit in it?

I just bought one today and it didn't say to put batteries in the transmitter thing cuz I figured it already had batteries. So when I went to start it the throttle was stuck on full speed and I couldn't shut it off but I finally did, but will it effect the engine in the long run after what happened?
@RedcatracingAZ6 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily no - unless it was left like that for a long time. But usually somewhere along the lines of the 4th and 6th page of the "Nitro Vehicles Instructions Manual" that comes with all Redcat Nitro vehicles it states 4 batteries are required for the receiver pack (unless using a battery pack which is not included) and 4 or 8 are required for the remote. It also states it is always best practice to ensure the electronics in Nitro/gas models are working before running the engine. In your case the engine probably did not throttle to full speed because of the electronics but most likely it was due to the throttle position and needle settings on the carburetor. Another good thing to do is check the needle settings on any Nitro/gas model to ensure they are at or around stock settings. If the throttle lever and needle are off or the settings are not at factory settings the engine can sometimes throttle up when started due to those incorrect settings. On a side note: anytime you have an engine run throttle up uncontrolled there are three tricks to stop t. On is you simply place your finger over the exhaust really fast and it will stop the engine. Second is to block the air opening on the carburetor - usually easier to do in the break in process because sometimes you can have the air filter off. And lastly you can bend/pinch the fuel line and it will starve the engine of fuel.

Redcat Racing thank you! I got an electric start installed much easier than pulling it lol!

When we broke in are cars should we let are car shut off by running out of gas or should we which it and ween it gets low turn it off
@Clickbaiters9 жыл бұрын
Don't let the car run out of gas as that will cause a lean condition. When fuel is low either refill or shut the engine down by pinching the fuel line or by (my preferred method) plugging the stinger.

do you have to keep it under 2nd gear if it is 2speed

Sorry to hear that sossa. When it comes to the r/c hobby, there are going to be times when a part breaks and you don't think it deserved to, and other times when parts don't break and you thought for sure something should have broken. There is also going to be a learning process with RC's as well as variations between use/abuse and the outcome of such things. Some people get lucky and a jump doesn't effect a single part on the RC and others take a tumble 5 minutes after getting it out the box and something breaks. It's just the way the hobby goes, regardless of how much you end up spending on your vehicle of what brand you buy/own.
