I used a heat gun for my break in! Warmned her up to 220 then ran her for one tank.The put her on the ground for 4 tanks.1/4 throttle.1/2,3/4 then full throttle,for short burst.Kept the heat cycle from 85-250. She runs like a scalded cheetah!

Another trick for getting the fuel circulating is pinch the line that connects to the exhaust and quickly pop the cap for the fuel tank. Pull it open all the way and just release it. Do that about twice before releasing the line and you will see the fuel racing into your engine block!
@BASSstarlet5 жыл бұрын
Thats a nice trick, i should try it.Myself i just use a syringe (without the needle ofcourse!)

At 10:28 the idle coming off of the high speed run, is that an indication that the LSN is set too rich for a correct HSN setting? To me it sounds like the LSN is trying to add too much fuel to a perfect high speed run, am I correct?

this is the best RTR nitro i've ever purchased, took us a while at the shop to get the first start but break in went well and it holds a good tune =) Savox servos are awesome and out of the box it handles really well, might change the ackerman and a few other things to get it dialed in for me.

I prefer the Novarossi Italian break in. Attach single needle carb and prop on the bench, start it up. Leqn it out so the engine is spiining between 38000-40000rpm, leave it for 7 mins at that. Boom engine broken it.

I can't believe people are still running in engines this way. You're not running it in, you are wearing it out. You need to understand the engine metallurgy - ABC engines are designed to have the liner expand faster than the piston so it does not seize in a lean run. Running the engine in too cold will wear it out as the liner will not have expanded to size. It needs to be run in at race temperature, with the body shell on it and cut the way you are going to race it. The pro's put a race tune on it immediately after 1 tank on the bench, and drive it gently at first, as though you were driving the Queen in her limo, rolling out of max throttle about halfway along the straight. Over the course of the next 3-4 tanks, pace is gradually increased to full race pace. Engines retain their edge much longer this way. I went from new engines going off just before the finals at major race meets to having them last a full year's racing before needing a new piston.
