Hi Girls, Only just found your channel and love the videos and your relaxing and informative narration! Being a rail enthusiast, canals also interest me, they are , of course, the forbearers to railroads. When I was younger and before the internet... I couldn't believe there were canals crossing bridges and each other!!, nothing like that down here in Australia! One day I'll get to the UK and run a Longboat down some of those great waterways! lost under Scuse me ladies, but I've just come on to your site and wonder if I might make a suggestion regarding your adventure with the prop.if you could find a piece of tube (say something like a piece of soil pipe size in diameter just long enough to reach the top of the prop from the weed hatch) seal off one end with a piece of clear plastic or glass, you could then push the glass end underwater and see what you need to do before you start flashing sharp knives and cutting hands ( exactly the same as a glass bottomed boat ) hope this helps

The view around 14:47, and after, with the boat rising in lock and clouds moving in background at same time gave me vertigo or something! :D Think that somwehre around there was sound of a small propellor plane and with planes being an interest I'd have been looking around to see it.

As far as I'm concerned apology isn't necessary, it may only have done that because of my having autism, and CFS/ME, and several other neurological and endocrine things, and it just wouldn't be an issue for people without those. On a different subject, in comments the last couple days on the channels of Jono and a fellow whose name I forget right now, I learned that at least some locks have underground plumbing between the chambers, with vents to the surface, it was something I'd not realized in all these years of being moderately interested in canals, had thought it all done with the lock gates.

If you have lead acid batteries, leaving them uncharged shortens the life of the battery. The anodes corrode and the maximum life slowly drops. If you have LiFePo4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate, or leisure batteries) then you can just straight up reduce the maximum charge in easily detectable amounts. It is generally better to keep batteries topped up.

I can relate to the struggles with money. When I moved onto "Harmony" in the 90s, I did a little with wastewater treatment initially, but there were other things I wanted to do (like fitting lazy jacks) but didn't have the money for. (After I moved back to the land, a new boss gave me a pay rise of over 20% ... if only he'd turned up a year or two earlier ... ) On Munchy: maybe he went up to the loch to scare off any potential loch stealers - when the loch stealer turned up, Munch hadn't been able to trot up and do his thing :) On the back yards, I used to tell people my backyard was Bass Strait ... I needed to take a big breath when I mowed it :D That post-sign off footage looked quite magical (especially Alice's eyes)

Did I miss something? As someone who went from a lifestyle that was inherently active (horses) to one that is terribly inactive, I have found that sometimes just having an active lifestyle is not enough and something specific might be needed as well as operating the locks etc. So I - as a "fellow" female - would have wondered too if you do do something in addition....? (Would you have been as offended if I had asked you - kinda scared to now :oP )

Charging to 80% on dry cells will give a longer service life of the batteries then charging to 100% so try to keep the batteries 45 to 85%.
