Kevin, Great flight and video. How things have changed. When I started flying in the late 60s you used your VORs Omni to cross check your position while "flying the plane". Now, all you have to do is push buttons and watch/observe. The technology you put in your C310 is amazing. Great workload reducer. I know I said this in a previous video but I love how your autopilot corrects for the deployment of your flaps. When I had my C310 there was always that abrupt nose up (unless you babied the flap lever). Also, correcting for an engine out situation is fantastic. AND, of course, another beautiful landing. You and your family stay safe and until next time, safe flying.

John lost an engine in IMC in his 340 over the Atlantic in the NY area and hand flew to a safe landing. Really cool to have the ability to let the autopilot take some workload so you can run checklist and brief the approach, etc. :)

This was a great video Kevin! Very intetesting and amazing! Thats some amazing technology!! It's come a long way! I can't help but think it wont be long before even GA aircraft will be landing themselves in all weather and the only thing that will need to be instrument rated will be the avionics, and pilots will only need to learn to operate the technology.

On twin Cessnas (excluding the 303) the left engine is the “critical engine”...the running engine (“right”) would have the longest arm for the rudder to overcome. If the autopilot will do it with the left engine at zero thrust, then it should be able to do it with the right engine at zero thrust and left engine operative.

Another great vid kev , I have a question about your call sign ( I’m not a pilot ) ok , u have to call a word for BC ( bravo Charlie ) why not a word for N in N771BC ?
@bobbrandt63834 жыл бұрын
The FAA requires all aircraft to be registered and are given an N number similar to cars receiving a license plate number. The rest of the numbers and letters are part of that number. Because certain letters sound very similar, the international civil aviation organization created the international radiotelephony spelling alphabet. In order to be sure that letters are pronounced and understood correctly no matter what language is spoken the aviation alphabet helps to avoid mistakes.
@brianwhite16504 жыл бұрын
@@bobbrandt6383 thank you for the explanation. Great info.
@brch24 жыл бұрын
@@brianwhite1650 N is November... "November Seven Seven One Bravo Charlie". Since the "N" is known to be there, they will also often replace the "N" with the plane type... "Twin Cessna Seven Seven One Bravo Charlie", which gives pertinent info to ATC. After initial contact, they can drop the plane type, and just respond "Seven Seven One Bravo Charlie". And after enough contact, usually if ATC shortens the call sign first, he can just shorten it to "One Bravo Charlie". And though incorrect terminology (though he's ATC, so I leave it to him to know what's OK and not) he will occasionally just respond "One BC", more so when he's in his coworkers' airspace, or Aurora's airspace.

One more question that’s been on my mind for awhile that doesn’t make sense to me, before takeoff u put the fuel pump on low and I would think that the engines would need all the fuel it could get being that they are full power to boggie down the runway ?
@bobbrandt63834 жыл бұрын
The auxiliary fuel pumps are on for takeoff and landing as a back up to the engine fuel pumps in case they fail.
@stlflyguy4 жыл бұрын
Fuel pumps on “Hi” would more than likely flood the engine while the engine driven fuel pump was operating.
