Amazing I found this video. I have a newer VStrom 650 with this guard and it really keeps road junk off the engine. I bought a new SV 650 last month and wondered if the guard would fit. Now I know. I didn't want to spend over $300 USD if it didn't work. I think it's great and will keep the engine protected. Thanks!

It fits very well and it takes you no more that 10 minutes to fit it on the SV.The overall look will be much improved în my oppinion (a master of taste maybe). Good luck!

@bikereport Жыл бұрын
The SV650X has the same structure on the engine area. If you dislike the look and lack of protection of the 1st cilinder exhaust, probably will start search engine guard :). Soon you will conclude that none on the market fits as good as this one.

@@bikereport it's not for the looks, but the protection.. I already crashed (at very slow speed) my first bike, so protection comes first, looks .. a bit later :)

I think your bike looked better without the guard, but I would still install it. The protection is way more important and it is still a sexy looking bike.

Nice. Looks good too. I never liked the look of the exposed exhaust. I think the SV650 is a good looking bike. I prefer the Gen 1 frame, I used to have a ‘99, but Gen 3 is still nice. It seems like Suzuki is moving away from V-twin engines, but hopefully not. It’s generally my favorite engine type.

Plastic indeed. As for the protection, it comes on V-strom 800DL from the facory, a bike designed for the offroad side much more than the SV is. So, I think for the SV it should be more than enough.
